That's a nice Ross, Boltman. I read somewhere only a few known in that caliber.

Thanks. If anyone here has another, or knows of another, I'd like to hear about it.

Here is my 1905 vintage 35WCF with shotgun butt and virtually no bluing. Stock is beautiful though...

My wife took a few pictures of my brothers looooooong barrel 1895 !!!! grin 36" 1/3 octagon barrel, also has sling eyes the front one dovetailed so the rifle attempts to balance lugging with a sling. The rear sight dovetail has a spirit level in it and a lyman reciever sight. It is in 40-72,someone really thought they needed a 40-72 long range rifle for something !! crazy crazy grin heres the pics.Im sure its a one of rifle in that configuration.

Don - I thought it would be perfect for a guy with long arms like you. If I recall, Dick's arms are not as long. This would be a good rationale for you to get it from him.

My mind is flying in all sorts of different directions... crazy

It would make for a very long package to ship... and if he included that .50/115 Bullard in the package... it would make for a very heavy package... BUT... what a wonderful package cool

Sorry guys, I'm not living in reality at the moment but at least the thoughts I am having are very pleasant.

I'm surprised (and pleased) that, some time in the last 100 +/- years, somebody didn't take a foot or so off that barrel to make it "handier". shocked I once had a Winchester '76 45-60 that had the original 28" barrel cut to 20" to make it into a "carbine". That's a beautiful one-of-a-kind weapon and a Model 1895 collection all by itself.
