This is a beautiful little carine based on the GEW 88 Carbine that was customized into a really cool little Rifle by a German Guild gunmaker. It is a war time bring back. It is chambered in 8 mm mauser (.318 bore) Which most modern domestic ammo is loaded. The rifle functions and fires perfectly and is very accurate. The are no extra holes and the metal is deeply blued and free of any pitting. The wood is free of cracks and retains its original oil finish. The pistol grip cap and butt plate are horn. The butt plate does have some filled worm holes. The bore is excellent. This is a really neat little rifle ! $795.00 shipped to your FFl in CONUS.

I had to think hard about setting this one loose. My eyes are not what they use to be for open sights so I thought someone could put this to good use. This thing shoots very accuratley. Handles and points very well.

Holy balls. If this is what you're selling, I'd like to see what you're holding on to.

For those not familiar with the action. The Gew 88 used a modified Mannlicher action with a few Mauser tweaks. Instead of using the Schoenauer rotary action it uses an external single stack magazine. The magazine was loaded from the top of the open action via a 4 round en bloc clip that was pushed down into the magazine against the spring .When last round is chambered the clip drops away through the hole in the bottom .Very cool.

Nice rifle but I thought most 8 mm was .323?

when it first came out these rifles were a .318 bore later changed to .323...so domestic ammo loads to .318 bore just to be safe.
