You must have loved jigsaw puzzles as a kid...

It would take me quite a while to put all that crap back in there like it was...

I guess that's something that you get better at as you do it.?

This for your ma, right.?

Yep, she didn't ask for the engine bay or engine detailing. I figure its a decent Xmas present. Well, I don't know if its decent, but its a present. Lol.

It sure as hell ain going to hurt the value of this buggy.

As for puzzles..... No, never was much for puzzles. I was always too busy tearing something apart to see how it worked.

Somehow seeing the finished product brought back to life makes all the pain and effort, of removing years of abuse, worth it.

It's gonna come right down to the wire, but I think I'll get her finished in time.

You have never seen an undercarriage with carbon buildup like this one had on it...

Yep,..(long sniff)..I know the pressure us restorers come under this time of year to get things completed by Christmas.

I would have hooked it on a log chain behind the truck and drug it down the gravel roads. Looks like about an 8 pack job if 2 operators are utilized.

My 67 Mustang would look good with that much skilled labor applied.

Methinks sticker shock would be to much for my old heart.

Dave,

What all kind of vehicles do you work on? Any imports?

Cool, primers start then more sanding, then........... I love your attention to detail Dave. You do some of the finest work I have ever seen Sir.

I'm kinda looking around for a 79-83 Toyota 4x4 pickup and figured it will probably need some work.

I've been squeezing the trigger on this old war horse on the right for 2 decades. Its sprayed all kinds of primers, enamel, laquer and urethane single stages, base coats, clears...
I have better guns I guess, but I sure like that old siphon rig.

So, I decided to set one up with a modern cup system and see how I like it. Should be sweet for flipping upside down for rockers and other tricky areas.

Nice...

You're at the stage where everybody quits around here...

Nothing like primer grey and red vehicles.

laugh

I was wondering what you'd do with those cross members under the engine compartment, didn't know if they got painted or not..

It will get satin finish black soon, which will match the under side of the car.

Stirring polyester primer is like mixing one of those big pool hall chalk blocks with a qt of 30 wt oil.

Mix until smooth.
