I didn't get to know Mickey in my short time here at the fire, but I read many of his posts and was struck both by his wisdom, and his kind approach to people. It is my loss that I didn't get to meet or correspond with him. It is obvious the love and respect that you guys have for him, and that is really something special.
RIP Mickey.

I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Mickey 20 yrs ago during my first benchrest match. We kept in touch over the years since I use to deer hunt in Selma. his personality displayed on the campfire was the same in person ... at true gentleman who took the time to help others and never had anything negative to say sad day indeed , RIP sir

The Campfire will be a poorer place with this loss. Prayers on the way for his family. This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I only knew him from here but feel a tremendous loss. Not a nicer guy out there. May he RIP. I know he is in heaven now. Our loss is the Lords gain.

This thread is a testament to Mickey and the wonderful person he was. He touched a lot of us with his gentle spirit and kind heart. I was in shock when I first posted and just could not say much at all. Mickey my friend you will be missed but I know in my heart you are in a much better place!

Oh man, I was just really getting to know Mickey. I went to his place a while back when tragedy unexpectedly brought me to Greenville. I was hoping to go see him this weekend if he was feeling better. I had a Christmas present for him. Damn, just damn.
