The obvious answer is a foreskin to keep it warm. http://bisonarmory.com/forearm-skins/

I saw a post somewhere about a guy with the same complaints and he wrapped his forend in paracord. He said it did a nice job.

The B5 systems handguard is very slim and doesn't suck heat like an aluminum one.

And if you stroke it enough, it turns into full-length Mannlicher-type forend. John

yesterday I stopped into a local leather shop
Makes me think what if you had a piece of leather fit to the handguard?
Boyds makes wooden stock sets I have one (my daughter likes blue/wood guns so I bought it) but it looks cool I am sure that would be more friendly but not practical

I have the AP custom 15" carbon fiber on my 20" gun. Its a great FFT and I've been very pleased with it.
I wouldn't per say call it "warmer", it doesn't conduct heat or cold much so its always kind of neutral temp.

I made one out of carhart style canvas with a foam sheet inside for insulation. Makes a big difference and was easy to put together, used adhesive velcro to keep it in place.

No way that ever has, or ever will, work. Haven't tried one (yet) but looks sound: http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1471I can think of a few older integrally suppressed sub guns that had leather lace on wraps on the can so quite a few different ways you can get to where you want to be on the issue.

Here is the cheap and simple route, since I have several I haven't used. I did stitch it closed at the top. I originally thought about using a piece of bicycle innertube

Anyone tried one of the ebay carbon hand guards or something similar? I'm considering going from my non free float quad rail to this. I like that it's slimmer than a quad rail and you can place the rail sections where you want. It's a plus that it's carbon fiber so it should be warmer than aluminum.
