My first experience afield with one was this past Saturday. I used my Model 600 to knock one down on a drive. Haven't set up to reload for it yet so I'm currently running the LeverEvolution stuff. I was well pleased with the results at 40 yards.

Hit her twice, first one clipped lungs - second took off the top of the heart and offside humerus. Results were about 35 yards of this.

I used a 336 for a bit, and let family members buy it back in memory of their father. I have a T/C Contender Carbine 35Rem and absolutely love it.

On deer it gives great blood trails, as we see above. Elmer Keith said he preferred it on Elk to the 30-06, and while 06 bullets have improved since then the 35 is still up to the job too.

Good to see the .35 Rem get some press. I love mine in a 336.

Remington wishes that their rifles of today shot as good as this old model 141 in 35 Remington. Put a good scope on one of these rifles and it will really show you how it is done. But a 2.5 power scope is what it carries to the woods.

35 Remington factory loads are loaded down (auto's ?) they run
under 1900 in my 760. 40 grains of 3031 will push a 200 gr to a
bit over 22oo fps. I bought my 760 at a yard sale for cheap.
It is one of my most accurate rifles.

I have taken a few whitetails with the 200 grain CLRN and LVR powder in my 336. Works excellent and I haven't had to follow a blood trail yet as they have died in place. Awesome combo in the woods. Very accurate as well, but mine isn't scoped, so I have no idea what the true potential is.

Back when I hunted hogs in Florida and Georgia, a 336 in 35 Rem was my go-to for bringing home the bacon. It will absolutely give you exit wounds and quick kills.

Hunt Hoggs with a friend in TX. He owns a nice older Marlin 336 w a 3x9 on it. That thing is a tack driver at ranges past 100 yards.
Hoggs just die when hit w the core lock's he likes. DRT.
Best part is he has had this for a long time and used it on a lot of stuff, but last year loaned it to his daughter. She is patient and passed on a bunch of deer they saw in some early sits for her first hunts. Sure enough Mr Big Antlers walks in on a later hunt and she drops him. Very nice eastern white tail. Now many guys have to look at her mount and wonder what they are doing wrong.
PS, don't ask the coyote's that show up hog hunting how they like it!

Problem is now I can't keep from looking at Marlins at the LGS in 35.

I used to only shoot shotguns and rimfires, then I made the mistake of getting a subscription to handloader.......

I bought a 336 a few weeks ago and couldn't find any ammo locally. Went on Gun Broker and there are people paying $45-70 a box for Remington 200 gr green box! Leverevolution running a little over 40 when you figure in shipping.

Crazy times

Plenty of the Hornady stuff around by me.

While it is now late in the year, we shipped many tens of thousands of the 200 grain CoreLokt round out this year. Neither has been discontinued and both should be in production next year. Please feel free to contact us early next year when we will have the 2015 production schedule.

I don't know where they shipped it, but it was NOT to S.C.
I've been looking for a solid yr, either ammo or bullets to no avail.

I've only shot 1 deer with mine. He was about 80 yards and ran about 30 yards before going down.

It's been a few years ago so I'd have to go back in my notes to see which handload I was using.

Dave.

I've not used the 220 Speer in the 35 Rem but the 200gr RN is a deer killer. Before I started reloading the 200gr Winchester was all that was available around here and it is very accurate from my Marlin and works great on deer.

I just bought a 760 in 35 Rem a few months back.

WW Brass
200gr Honrady RN
CCI 200
40.5grs H4895
medium factory crimp

Super accurate in my Marlin 336 and my Remington 760.

Looks to me like hitting bone is what made that huge exit.
