I have a 4-12X Vortex Viper on my 338 Lapua which has a big muzzle break. It's still working flawlessly after about 350 rounds through the rifle. I expect it to keep working.

a local friend has a 338/378 he hunts elk all over the west with each year and does real well with it at some pretty long distances...
he runs a Leupold 4.5 x 14 x 50 on top of it.. and so far, after 10 seasons, its still riding up top there...

Let me know how many rounds you run through before you get to check out the awesome Vortex warranty first hand.... Mine worked awesome until I had to turn the turrets to get it on paper. Somebitch was turning on the outside on the horizontal but not the inside. Unfortunate for Vortex as it was my first and last scope Shod A buddy of mine put one on a Winchester model 70 EW 300 wsm and it was garbage. It wouldn't adjust/track properly, didn't hold zero and groups suffered big time: 4-5" groups... Is it really worth having an excellent warranty instead of just getting a truly great scope instead? My buddy has since switched to a Swarovski 3-10x42 and has experienced no problems... Sorry Fotis, I didn't see you are wanting to sell your Vortex. Not trying to bash Vortex optics either, just pointing out problems my friend had with a $800.00 vortex viper pst he bought 2 years ago. Don't know if this is the exact same model as yours, but it looks a lot like it..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I have shot several times, and load for such rifle . To me the felt recoil is less than my .308 ultralite. Acouple people said about the 30-378 would trash a scope so bad , if the felt recoil is low why would it be so hard on scopes ?

Acouple people said about the 30-378 would trash a scope so bad , if the felt recoil is low why would it be so hard on scopes ? The brakes on those rifles are removable for hunting, and the recoil from burning 115 gr's of powder and pushing a 180 gr bullet at 3000 fps is "stout" to say the least.

Brakes are just as hard,if not harder on the scope than recoil.

Its a pull push effect like what the heavy spring does on a air rifle when it moves toward the muzzle compressing all that air . Most scopes are designed to handle a rearward recoil . I know a guy that has shot a 30-378 for many years in fact it is his only big game rifle , he does not have a brake on it . Last time I talked to him he had the same old VXIII 4/5-14x40
