224 TTH or 22-6mm, whatever it is supposed to be called. Who shoots one? I traded into one and would appreciate any experience you may have to offer. Will be developing some loads but would like to hear of any loads being used.

Couldn't you start with 6mm Rem loads for 75 VMAX or whatever weight 22 cal you'll be trying??

I had one. It was fun, but I wouldnt build another. Nice that you have an 8 twist.

The 8th edition Hornady manual has data, and the case capacity is virtually the same as the 223 WSSM, so that data can be used as well.

Thanks for that info. 257heaven, that's a good idea and I had not thought of it. I'm not sure if there would be pressure increases with the 224 compared to the 243 diameter bullet.
Anyone chime in on this?

There's no sense in worrying about all of that as the Hornady manual has pressure tested data for the 75 grain Amax.

I have a 223 WSSM and came across a gun rag last year that had load data for it and the 224 TTH, I snapped a pic of the load data page at the time, later on I went to buy the magazine and was out of luck, can't remember the writer or magazine it was in and have not been able to find it since, still regret not buying the magazine when I had the chance ... maybe somebody here knows something ?
anyway... here is the pic I took with my iphone ..

And the .224 TTH used in the article is the one prairie goat used to own. Like any true rifle loony, he moved on to other things, and I was able to purchase his cast-off!

Dang it , now I'm really pissed off for not buying the magazine !

This was in Seward, Alaska.... I was on a construction job and for lunch my co worker and I went to a Carrs/Eagle grocery store to get lunch and hot coffee, while I was waiting for him I went to the magazine aisle near the Starbucks in the store,
with no time to read the article or stand in line to pay for it I snapped a pic of the load data and took off, forgot about it and when I was in the store a week later could not find the magazine there... or anywhere else ...

is there an online version of that article ?

Please keep us posted on how that rifle does or works out for you. That is a caliber I want to try out someday. Maybe even the AI version or better 22/6mmAI. Maybe when I burn out the throat on my Mauser 220 WBY Rocket I will re chamber to that round. My rifle is a 1 in 9 twist, but the extra powder and rotational speed it offers might still give good stabilization of some of the longer bullets.

Pictures hereby requested.
