Heck, looking at that nice lady I was thinking sometimes the apple DOES fall far from the tree..... ...in fact sometimes it rolls down the hill into the creek, washes downstream clear to the ocean, and then gets carried off by prevailing currents clear to another continent or something.

earlier in the week, one of my Mom's two surviving same generation relatives died died. The other, fell, and is in a facility, and we don't know yet if she will live. That will make Mom all alone, having outlived her parents, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles. She went up to Emory and Henry College in Virginia last October. Only she and one other gent are still alive from her class of 1938. All of her high school/grammer school chums are dead. Her joy at the birth of this baby girl is amazing, and it was her remark, that 'life goes on'. Sam, that is just awesome. My MIL is in an assisted living facility, but my youngest son brought his newborn by to see ' big-grandma.' The smile was priceless. Great picture and an even greater life event for the family!
