Glad to hear you are hunting that area.
Keep warm.
Best to you.

Hunting there, yes. Seeing deer, no. Haha. Have been up there four weekends in the past three years and have yet to see a deer on the property. I've been up early rifle and late. The area definitely has deer, as we hear shots around us every time.

Eh, either way, its always a great weekend with family and we have a lot of fun. So definitely worth it in my book.

This reminds me of a sad moment in my life, the day I waited to long to climb down the ladder. I had plenty of warning, but I figured that I had plenty of time. In fact, I envisioned a mid-morning hike from the stand to the outhouse at the edge of our family campground about a 1/4 mile away. I put it up year 2 of our stay at the farm. Besides being close to the campground it's also in situated between several deer hunting venues.

All of a sudden, getting down the ladder was an immediate necessity. I was wearing coveralls that day. I managed to get them off and . . .

Bottom line: I had to radio back to the house. KYHillChick was told to bring a leaf bags and some beach towels. I rode back to camp in complete ignominy and took a shower.

I like the bibs/coat set up myself. Coveralls are just too restricting.

I usually have a fairly heavy sweater or two on underneath the bib suspenders. This is so when you take the coat and suspenders off to drop the bibs to take a dump you are still fairly warm.
