I put a lot of hours in the last few of seasons in between work but I was lucky to connect with these big bodied bucks. Last year the striped bass hit the beaches at the height of bow season so all fall I was hunting and surf casting . Regards, Steve

I could think of worse things to do than hunt and fish all fall. Congratulations on two beautiful bucks. Private land?

Went to school until 11th grade on Long Island. Used to see a lot of deer going out to Montauk Point and other area's out there. lot of them around Baiting Hollow Scout camp. Never hunted deer there though. My dad wasn't much of a hunter. Get out east on the Island and there used to be some really nice country!

Nice bucks. The deer I've spotted on Long Island deer seemed like they were a smaller strain. Used to spend some time in East Quogue many moons ago - nice place.

Nice bucks Steve, I used to hunt Manorville when I lived there.Took some decent deer there but then the county bought the land and that was the end of bowhunting! LongIsland has become the land of NO when it comes to the outdoorsman! I also did quite a bit of surfcasting, the only thing I miss about the island. Fished mainly the northshore and Montauk.

Thanks for all the kind words GuysYes, these three bucks were taken on private land with permission from the care takers or owners. Believe it or not more and more slamming bucks are taken west of the Hampton's..I will post one my buddies son arrowed ten days ago with so much mass it's scary and that was taken well west of me. I am lucky to live here and have access to really good bow hunting on one side and the ocean to fish on the other.

Woke up nose to nose with a monster L.I. buck while sleeping on the hood of the car in the parking lot at Connetquot. Thought it was the dog breathing in my face and pushed it away , then remembered where I was and that the dog was home.
