Thanks for posting....That's the first 1957 270 I've run across....I'd want it to be in a smidgen better shape than that if I am waiting this long. Keeping my eyes open!
Just messin' with you in a good natured way, but if the longer you wait, the better it has to be, you will eventually get to the point that only an unopened NIB will do. And there might not be any unopened NIB 1957 .270 rifles left in the world.
I wanted a '53, but settled for a '54. '53 is my birth year. Like you, I wanted a .270, and I was also feature driven in a way that narrowed my window from late '51, to possibly early '54. The '54 was everything I wanted but the year, so I took it. (Actually, I expected I would not get the integral front sight ramp, but I got lucky.) A few months later, the guy (Dave Riffle) popped up with a '53 in .270. I should have bought that one too, picked between the two, and mothballed or sold the other. I don't know if I would have made or lost money with a quick sale, but probably not a lot of money either way. I didn't do it, and while not a huge regret, I still wish I had.
If the Blue Book or the Gurus here think it is worth the $880, then it might do until you find a better one. If it nice and accurate, you might just find that it will grow on you.
