Looking at the Leupold Mark 1, Nikon 223, and the Burris 5.56 all in the 4-(12/14)x40 range. Decisions decisions... Looking to do a little dialing. Any suggestions?

I can't speak for the burris, but you can't go wrong either of the other two. I have never used the mark 1 but it's a Leupold so I'm sure the quality is there. I have a Nikon m223 it's great. No complaints.

MK-AR, close thread.
The M223 turrets turn on a whim and the reticle sucks.
The Burris is a bit heavy, and the turrets are a hair mushy, especially when compared to the Leupold.

I do freelance PR/Shooting Event's for Nikon and I can assure you the turrets do not turn on a whim and as for the reticle sucking, Myself and others have blown up four inch jars of tanerite at 600 yards using Nikon's BDC reticle and Spot On Ballistic Program. Incredibly easy to use and also very accurate for longrange shooting. Just enter your shooting data and off you go. I have personally purchased 2 M-223 3-12 BDC 600 and Rapid Action Turret Scopes for my own AR's. I use them at shooting event's and coyote hunting. Drop me a note if you have any question's. I don't do any sales but I'm sure there are site sponsors that can help you out. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd363/bman940/M-223%203-12/M-2233-12RAT.jpghttp://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd363/bman940/M-223%203-12/1-1.jpg

BDC reticles suck. Period. Nikons may be one of the worst. As for the turrets, the MOST common complaint regarding the P and M series scopes is the ease with which the turrets turn. The Mark AR is a much better scope than either of the Nikon offerings. Reticle choice with matching turrets, VX2 glass, turrets that actually stay put, with mil and useless BDC markings, available custom turrets, including ones that feature ONLY mils, available illumination, and its a Leupold. There really isnt any real comparison.

I really like my Mark AR scopes. Mine are the old ones with the T2 turret. I have a Zeiss 3-9x50 Conquest that I am considering turning into a Mark AR.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

I had a Mark AR and now have M223's on a couple of my AR's, the Mark AR was sent down the road. The Nikon is the only BDC reticle that actually means something and isn't just random hash marks.

The hash marks always mean something. You just may need to do some math to figure it out. It is called Minute of Angle or Milliradian...hint Besides, I'd rather have a regular plex and actually use the dials. That's wy they are there.

I like my Mark AR very much. I don't have any experience with the others.
