I have seen blue grouse so dumb in the Olympic National Park, a kid could kill them with a rock. And we ate them.
I have seen ruffed grouse so shot over Near Monroe WA, they flush a quarter mile ahead in the woods. They only chance is to flush them along a noisy creek with a steep bank. They can't hear you coming and they have to fly in line with the creek.
And where there are a lot of ruffed grouse, you have goshawks, that will eat your chickens on the ground right in front of you.

Balltownbob: I lobbied (suggested!) repeatedly and over some length of time for the owner/moderators hereon to "make" another category/forum ("Winchester Collectors Forum") for us 24 Hour enthusiasts to share in/on. I was VERY happy when they acted on my suggestion and did the work to set-up a Winchester Collectors forum - I think it has been well received and participated in. Personally I don't care what its called as long as the name is clear that its for Winchester Enthusiasts! Maybe that would be a better/more appropriate name (Winchester Enthusiasts)? How about "All Things Winchester"? I take NO offense when I see a posting that is NOT specifically about "collecting". I have no interest what so ever in collecting anything named Winchester that was made after 1964 but I have some friends that do so I don't mind those who do. No offense taken by your "anality". I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

We could lobby the gov'mint to institute a licensing process for true Winchester "Collectors".
The process could involve specialized training/educational requirements, "X" number of years of apprenticeship, or on-the-job training, and no one would be able to use the term "Winchester Collector" until they met all the requirements and passed several rigorous 8 hour exams.
And, of course, only un-altered, pre-64s could be "Collected".
Then, of course,we would HAVE to change the name of the forum...

As I bought most of them, i posted a pic on the this forum. One of them I got in 1959, before the internet.
Oh, and two more are on the way... really old ones.

I see no reason to change the name. What would be nice to see is that when you get an e-mail to notify you of a response to a posting you only got one instead of every reply. You could open the e mail then look at all the replies, this way you don't have 50 or more msg's in your in box.
