Very nice shape all around, not a featherweight, just average weight wise. Just wasn't used.

C'mon, folks!!!! Are you kidding me!!!????? Come to your senses!! SAVE ME FROM MYSELF! Fireball2, I SO wish this was beat up a little..... I wanna make myself a .35 Whelen, but wouldn't have the heart to monkey with one this nice. Cannot believe folks buy the cheapy bolt guns made now, instead of a classic like this for the same $$. I do believe it is on the Santa Barbara Action, and probably has the near-custom quality, totally adjustable trigger shown here:

(Fireball2- free bump with more info, and free advertising, cuz I don't wanna be sleepin on the couch, or ruin such a beauty with my bubba-skills)

I can't believe this is still here! Great deal on a great rifle. People droll all over Remingtons and ARs and pass over one of the best actions ever built. We're just leaving on a long motor home trip or I'd have this to go along with the 10 or 12 Mausers I already have . Looking for any trades maybe a Leupold or two??? --- Mel

I'd trade for something fun. If not, I may rebarrel to 6.5/270.

I had this rifle's twin many years ago. It was a great shooter. Someone will be getting a deal on this and a really nice rifle.

What's the muzzle diameter and bbl length?
Is the front sight screwed on?
How close are you to Cottage Grove?
Am I really enough of a rifle looney to deserve a 400 Whelen?

I wish someone would get this - if I did not already have a Mauser in 270, I'd be on this Like M.Obammy on a pulled pork sammich

Drill lightening holes in the stock, send it off to JES for a 35 Whelen, 9.3x62 or 400 Whelen rebore and one would have a tough killer for little money.

Good idea. To answer the other questions-
Cottage Grove is about 125 miles up the road
I'm going to say the barrel is too light for a rebore, looks light as a 30/06, would never do as a big bore. You'd be rebarreling.

PM answered, working on a trade/cash combo offer right now. Still accepting an "I'll take it" as first in line.
