They ran a bank of animals for "club" class last weekend. Open sights or less than 4X scope for fun. They use the black pistol targets at the same range as rimfire. Had one gent do it with his pistol for fun.

Reba

It's a Civilian Marksmanship Program sold US Government marked 5 shot, plastic mag, bolt action with a slide stop sling apparatus and a chunky prone style wood stock. They came with target sights with different inserts for the front globe.

Think heavy, not the greatest trigger.

So it may not be drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

The Remington plastic mags can be a real problem.

Shot the game with a 540 xr iirc... single shot... no big deal.

Wife shot it with her 541 and plastic mag, also never had an issue.

YMMV

Trying to recall if I drilled the 541 or if it came drilled, regardless drilling and tapping for scope bases is about the easiest thing anyone can do at home.
