Nice stuff guys. That Jantz reminds me of one on the coffee table in my pic. Put together long ago. Yours is very nice inc the handles you personally sourced and installed. Nice leather - good job.

This is the one I've settled with for life. I can't abide cheap plastic knives. This^^^. Guys who like cheapchitt black plastic as scales to make a blade look mean are no better than those who go for plastic on the front of their woman. Shallow. I will have stag or exotic wood or buffalo horn or abalone or mother of pearl. I do allow titanium as scales on a Buck crosslock for backpacking due to the weight and possibility of hard use. Life is too short to spend fingering an ugly blade.

Yes. The second from the left right next to it is a Hultafors Utility knife. It is also awesome.
The Eggen is probably my favorite knife out of that batch.

Plenty of guys buy expensive knives and lock them up in the safe and never use them because of the possibility of hard use. To each their own I guess.

I just pulled the trigger on a Helle Fossekallen. Very similar to the Eggen, but slightly shorter blade and different sheath.

For the pocket, an A.G. Russell Featherweight. For the wood/hunting, a Tim Wegner Design BladeTech.

Nice blades guys. Re: plastic. As you can see I have both - and see a use for each. Just like rifle stocks. Looks and function do not always intersect

Like most here I have a variety of folders that get carried from time to time, but the one which is my true EDC is a small Spyderco Grasshopper that lives on my car keys.. This particular knife was part of a three knife set very kindly given to me by Mannlicher.. I was looking for a small keyring size knife which was a none locker to avoid falling foul of our knife laws and I am happy to say the Grasshopper is everything I wanted. Obviously too small for any really heavy work, but it shines by being darn handy and always being at hand..The steel takes a decent edge and is easy to touch up..All in all, ideal for what I wanted it for...

You're a portly bastard, like me, so it's perfect when wearing whatever without a belt. Portly, eh? lol. Guilty. Understood and makes sense. The portliness is why I most often choose one of these for daily wear. The Sig is a little honey and totally comfortable in a front pocket. Something I just can't get away with if I carry one of my full-sized roscoes. As far as carry knives, I've always been a big fan of Al Mar blades, but I like Benchmade too.

Been carrying various Victorinox Swiss Army knives my whole life, I just love them. Recently got an upgrade for a birthday present and I'm liking it. It's the One Handed Trekker NS (non serrated). Knife in the photo has the serrations, but otherwise it's the same knife. This is the same knife that the Swiss and German Army both issue, with the exception neither of the military knives have the tweezers and toothpick...just couldn't live without those two little accessories. Great knifes, and not expensive at all. I carry one of the serrated versions in my hunting pack. My everyday carry knife is a Gerber Applegate SwitchBlade. They run about $100 bucks in the SwitchBlade version.
