I saw a marlin Model 336 for sale with a serial number of T 17X. I believe the "T" indicates manufactured in 1960. The three digit serial I thought to be unusual. Did Marlin start serial numbering with "1" each year?

Thanks for any help

Jim

You Marlin collectors don't know anything about serial numbers? Odd.

I believe that the alpha prefix SNs started at "1" every year.

Thank you for the information, I suspected that the numbers started over each year.
