I recently discovered that channel too. I'm glad Dish picked it up. It was what the Weather Channel was before it became the joke it is today. Hopefully Weather Nation will expand their local coverage.

Huh have to check it out. Maybe they will pick up Coast Guard Alaska or other worthwhile programs.
TWC annoys the hell out of me. They'll schedule a show I want to watch, they pr-empt it to spend two hours telling me about snow in Maine.

Don't get your dopplers up on this either. One of the co-founders, Paul Douglas from Mpls. WCCO TV is a huge climate change proponent. The fact is if you are coming from any science based level of higher education, you've been marched to the shrine of "man made global warming" and sworn to defend it to the death.

The Weather Channel would be okay if they ever showed the weather. No schitt. Too many stupid reality shows. Since NBC bought them, all they do is push a liberal agenda on "global warming" and "climate change". I gave up on TWC a few years ago.

Tend to agree, but going by one source can be a dangerous thing, particularly for those at sea. Using a combination of NOAA, weatherunderground, intellicast, buoyweather and maybe a few local ones is how many salty folks play it, FWIW.
