Can weather affect a bow's speed?
Bought a PSE Drive LT for Christmas and got it out today for some longer ranges. Been shooting a little at 10 yds or so but the weather is finally cooperating and I took it to the shop today where I can stretch things out a bit.
Last time at the shop was February and 30*. I sighted in the new sight and was pretty confident I had it dialed for range (20,30,40). Today when I shot it was 90* and it sure seemed to be shooting noticeably higher to me. The sight definitely had to be adjusted from my previous marks to get her on. I shot for about two hours at 20, 30, 40, and 50 to get plenty of data (not to mention a sore arm!)
Logic tells me temperature COULD play a role but I'm too inexperienced to know. I ask because due to unlimited draw hunts I applied for, I am guaranteed an antelope and mule deer tag this year. They are early hunts in late August through Sept so the temps will be close to what they are now. I'm thinking I leave my sight where it is now and keep on practicing....
So, is it possible the heat will run the bow faster or was I just not precise enough the first go around?
