The 336 SC has got to be one of Marlins best looking/handling rifles. But to me, this is a Marlin 336 SC in 35 Remington as it should be.

This is a salvage job on a rifle someone tried to convert to a straight grip. They tried to use a lever from a 444 Marlin and pretty much ran into realization that it wont work. The best thing they did was quit before it was screwed up beyond repair. With a correct, modified lever and some stock work, to catch up to the now straight lever, it turned into a great rifle that shoots better than a lot of bolt action rifles.

I would never have done this to an original, but finding this botched up 336 SC conversion opened the door to building the rifle I wanted with out losing any collectors value.
