https://www.foxnews.com/world/irans-nuclear-facilities-are-mysteriously-under-attackThe first enigmatic hit happened on June 26 at a known liquid fuel production center that makes ballistic missiles in Khojir, near Parchin, southeast of the capital. Despite a downplaying by officials, satellite images later emerged to show extensive damage on an arsenal of gas tanks, along with an entire hillside blackened in the blast.
Two days later, on July 2, the notorious Natanz uranium enrichment plant – which became active in 2018 as Iran's principal place to develop centrifuges required to produce uranium and other nuclear weapons were in-development – was struck by a mammoth blast, as confirmed by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).
Tehran conceded that a severe attack had impaired an "industrial shed," and AEOI officials acknowledged to the Iranian media that the blow had "set back Iran's nuclear program by months."
Oh gee.
I wonder who woulda done such a thing?
Mattis is going to be pissed.
Maybe it's President Trump's fault
The word is Israel, maybe with help from the USA.
Opps! Faulty procedures I'm sure. All of 'em.
Damn Global Warming and its effects. They'll blame it on the poor Israelis.
Maybe it's President Trump's fault
Hopefully, and maybe indirectly. This seems internal like coup d'état they don't want to admit to, or an actual revolution. Chit falling apart at the seams.
They done pissed the wrong person off.
The word is Israel, maybe with help from the USA.
Seals? Nobody would ever know . . .
Trump warned them long ago.
I wonder where they got the cash for all o dem nukes and stuff?!?
There is a real threat here, one justifying covert activities. That threat is that Biden might be president. Even considering that a slight possibility you need to deal with Iran now and do as much damage as possible.

A watershed moment for Iran.?
I hope they don't have much stashed away in caves...
Can anyone say stealth drones?
How do you like being on the receiving end of terrorism?!
Mattis is going to be pissed.
As will Clapper, Brennan, Kerry, Obama,,,,,Hillary, Bill, DeNiro, Michael Moore,,,,,,Johnny depp,,,John Bolton...meuller,,,
What a shame. That was a nice rocket fuel facility.
Biden will rebuild Iran's economy. John Kerry will be in charge of it. They have experts waiting to jump in, Hunter.....
Oh gee.
I wonder who woulda done such a thing?
IIRC, Trump said he would get Iran turned around, flipped -so to speak.
Those are bad -ass if they work as advertised.
Would have caused a lot more damage then a fire.
What are these “Rods from God” of which you speak?
Does this mean the Miss Iran Pageant will be postponed?
An orbiting satellite that shoots steel rods at selected earthly targets. Looks much like a big cylinder with silos.
Does this mean the Miss Iran Pageant will be postponed?
Most likely, our resident libtards will be in mourning .
Would have caused a lot more damage then a fire.
Depends on how big it is. It could be no bigger than a yardstick or ruler. You don’t think the Air Force space plane spent 780 classified days in space doing nothing do you?

I don't know what it did up there do you?
The "rods from god" idea was a bundle of telephone-pole-size (20 feet long, 1 foot in diameter) tungsten rods, dropped from orbit, reaching a speed of up to 10 times the speed of sound. The rod itself would penetrate hundreds of feet into the Earth, destroying any potential hardened bunkers or secret underground sites.

Incredible kinetic energy transfer without radiation. Would be easy to pick up on radar but impossible to defend against. Many countries would have been able to detect such a strike. Could see it buring up in re-entry, so to speak especially at night. Russia, China, India, Pakistan, France, Itay, Germany, GB etc would all know from monitoring. Hell of a concept!
Sort of a gigantic DEWC at 12,000 fps? And superheated by re-entry.
Would have caused a lot more damage then a fire.

Not necessarily. The concept works all the way down to rods small enough to take out enemy tanks. A tungsten rod a foot long dropped from space will ruin someone’s day. In the 80s they theorized using a he concept against Russian tank divisions going through the Fulda Gap. A few hundred small rods dropped from a single satellite would decimate a Soviet tank division.

But none would want to admit it because they would have to acknowledge to their citizens that they are basically impotent against it and that the US has nearly god like power. So, it would be basically an open secret and a tremendous deterrent weapon.
It would also be impossible to deny. A "God's Rods" attack could instantly be traced back to a single orbiting source, and the national ownership of that craft known. They do track everything down to baseball size that's in orbit, you know, along with what it is and who put it there.
All you fantasy thinkers are so wrong. The X-37 is a research craft, and nothing else. It tests new technology like lubricants and sensors in long-term space exposure, with the most critical aspect being the ability to examine the test objects after safely landing. It would be useless as any kind of space weapon, precisely because its orbit is so well known and tracked. As I've said before, anyone who thinks otherwise knows absolutely nothing about orbital mechanics.
Absolutely... Coronavirus-19A
Causes spontaneous combustion.

Rocky thanks for the insight. Yes one of those attacks if such a vehicle even existed would be tracked.
Starwars.. Thanks President Reagan!
Rocky, any explanation of all the Top Secret missions of the space shuttles back in the day?
Kinetics is a big deal.
A chunk of tungsten would be nearly impossible to lift unnoticed, every ounce matters.
However, it wouldn't have to be real big. At 17000 miles per hour, that's around 25,000 feet per second. That's at least six or seven times our fastest rifle bullet.
But do we have such? Medoubts. So, there's got to be something else that came out of somebody's skunk works.
"The simplest solution is most likely the right one."
Does that sound familiar?
A bunch of sand nig*gers working with dangerous [bleep]. Draw your conclusion.

I think they were calling it a 304.8 Creedmore
(304.8 millimeters in a foot)

Not to mention that pesky " non militarization of space " treaty. It might be a bit embarrassing to be caught breaking a treaty we fought so hard to implement.
Star Wars, the best and most successful psy,op in history. Brought USSR to her knees. Hell many Americans believe it still today. God Bless Ronald Reagan.
GeoW, for a time, the Space Shuttle was used instead of expendable rockets to launch satellites. Many of the early missions did so. I can only surmise (meaning guess) that that's what some or all of the classified Shuttle launches did: deploy spysats. I have spoken on several occasions with Bob Crippen who commanded one of those classified flights, and wish I could say he let me in on the secret. But as honorable Air Force and Navy officers, neither of us broached the subject.
It was soon realized that it cost five to ten times as much to deploy satellites with the Shuttle instead of vehicles like Atlas, Delta, or even the mighty Titan. So except for satellites like the Hubble telescope, they returned to using rockets for satellites. The Shuttle then became a delivery truck for the Space Station until that was completed - and so they retired the Shuttle.
And then SpaceX came along...

Militarization of Space?
Naw, just list some trash out of the back of our vehicle.😁

There is no nonmilitarization of space treaty. There is a treaty that prohibits nuclear and chemical weapons on space based platforms. Kinetic weapons do not come under that.
Look it up if you don’t believe me.

How would something "dropped from space" would reach a terminal velocity tens of times faster than something just dropped from an aircraft at altitude? Unless propelled, how would the speed differ?
Bad-azz concept though!
No atmosphere when things get started
Gravitational pull rakes it in
Look at the speed of orbiting vehicles. 22000 mph or something. Take a turn down and see how limited the atmosphere is in slowing it down
Bet they're hoping Biden gets in so he can send they a few more cargo planes full of cash.
Bb
Starwars.. Thanks President Reagan!
Amen, but updated to be more sophisticated.

Hahaha. Yep.

I get that, but that is the *lateral* (orbiting) speed of said vehicle. These these are (presumably) low orbiting vehicles simply "dropping" a payload (again, presumably).
Not a meteorite entering the atmosphere already traveling at 150,000 MPH.
Anyhow, just curious. I am sure a tungsten telephone pole even at terminal velocity would ruin someone's day.
So curious how the speed accumulates. Most space junk burns up on re-entry...
Starwars.. Thanks President Reagan!
Amen, but updated to be more sophisticated.
Funny, I wore my '84 Reagan/Bush campaign t-shirt to the optometrist today. It was quite the conversation maker, LOL.

Fixed it. Tungsten is 2-1/2 times denser than steel and melts at a temperature about 2-1/2 times greater than steel. That telephone pole rod of tungsten would be doing 30-36,000 FPS on impact. Even though it doesn't melt until it's over 6,000 degrees it is shielded in a ceramic coating. That coating not only shields it from heat but it makes it very slick so air drag doesn't slow it down as fast.
If it exists, devastating on the nuclear weapon level.
I read the report and just feel, to repeat a comment made there- Promise made. Promise kept.
No guidance system? Dropped from Space. And they’re going to hit an enemy tank with it?
Uhhh. Hard to believe.
Somebody plug the vacuum in the wrong socket?
Soooooooo
A hundred lb piece of tungsten that’s about 2 ft long and 2 3/4” in diameter traveling at say 12,000 FPS
Equals about 21 Mile tons of energy
A 16” naval gun equals about 8 mile tons
It’s gonna leave a mark.

Well huh...it's true, apparently I really do not give a
shit.
I thought it was known that these explosions were caused by the Stuxnet computer virus.
Now, if we could just toss a Red herring in there pointing to their
intelligence agency.
Then watch the fur fly.
Only fair, they are watching us destroy ourselves.

The 1967 "Space Treaty" repeatedly states that space is to be used for peaceful purposes, which many analysts interpret to mean "no militarization of space".
Though you are correct in that only WMDs are explicitly prohibited.
Still, every platform in space is tracked and identified as to origin. Any military activity sourced from orbit would be quickly identified and credited to the originating nation as an "Act of War". Nothing discrete about it.
If these attacks were from the air, they were initiated by a Stealth aircraft with conventional, but possibly stealthy munitions.
There have been many reports of American stealth aircraft over flying hostile nations without detection.
Seven Iranian ships on fire this morning in port.
Ain’t no air strikes.
Rods from God.
This is fun to talk about. I hope the Ayatollahs are have the same conversations. True or not, make them sweat.
