Left has a new tack on gun control and a new attack on "assault weapons" - tax them into oblivion. Got 8-10 black rifles, SKS, HKs, AK platforms? Then have 1 13 page registration and a $200 per YEAR tax on the "Right" to own them. Not unconstitutional, folks, they will still allow you to "own" them...unless you don't pay the yearly tax. That would be about $2600/yr for me, if you don't include unmilled lower AR receivers.

Oh, and I wouldn't try that (they got lost at the the bottom of the lake" stuff. I'm sure that if you can prove transfer, you will be liable for prosecution, fines, and prison time.

Obama was right, elections have consequences.

Report: Biden's Gun Tax Plan Would Cost Gun Owners $34 Billion

Joe Biden’s plan to tax gun owners for the right to keep and bear arms could reach as high as $34 billion, according to an analysis by the Washington Free Beacon.

On the campaign trail, Biden made several promises relating to guns that he is going to have a hard time getting through Congress. Assigning liability for gun deaths to manufacturers is only the tip of the iceberg. Biden’s far-reaching program would drive online gun retailers out of business, which would include retailers selling gun supplies. It would force owners of AR-15s and other similar weapons to either sell them or register them with the government — paying $200 for the privilege.

The plan appears to harass and punish gun owners and manufacturers — simply because liberals hate guns.

Biden wants to ban new sales of AR-15 rifles and similar firearms as well as any ammunition magazine holding more than 10 rounds—sizes that come standard on most modern rifles and handguns. He would pay some owners to surrender the affected guns they legally own and force everyone else to register the guns under the National Firearms Act. The proposal would require owners to pay a $200 tax stamp for each item.

The report said the kinds of rifles Biden wants to ban made up nearly half of all rifles produced in 2018. Oliva said the group’s estimates may actually be undercounts. While NSSF used the latest Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives manufacturer reports, those only cover up to 2018, and Oliva said AR-15s have continued to grow in popularity since then.

An entire industry is under threat. How many small gun shops will be able to survive such restrictions? Gun manufacturers may as well declare bankruptcy now if Biden gets his way and is able to hold manufacturers responsible for some gang banger’s murder. States, cities, and private citizens will line up with their eyes lit up with dollar signs for the opportunity to reach into some deep pockets.

The report, which was released Monday, also found that 11.4 million firearms were made or imported into the United States in 2018. A further 9.3 million were made or imported in 2019. That brings the total number of firearms on the American market between 1991 and 2019 up to nearly 214 million.

Oliva said those numbers, combined with the fact that Americans increasingly favor AR-15s and other rifles targeted by Biden and gun-control advocates, are evidence the country is not interested in strict new gun laws.

“America’s attitude on gun control is shifting more toward the idea that we need to protect our rights and away from the idea we need government control of our destiny,” he said.
So why is Biden looking to crack down so heavily? The simple answer is that his biggest supporters are demanding it. Liberal blacks and other far left minorities, radical socialists, and liberal Democrats all agree that attacking gun owners and manufacturers is politically feasible. They aren’t stupid enough to believe the violence will let up one iota if they’re successful. But that’s not what this is about.

Gun owners are their political opponents. Sticking it to gun owners will help “transform” America. Disarming citizens will make people far more dependent on the government for protection, and thus, more dependent overall.

This is an issue where the slippery slope is clearly in view. And the left makes no effort to hide their ultimate goal of disarming every law-abiding citizen who owns a gun.
What guns? I sold all of mine for $25 and 2 cases of beer more than 5 years ago. Just sayin...
You can thank traitors like CowboyTim......
Amazing to me how many of you fuggers have already thrown in the towel.

I'll tell them I gifted them to various people who also gave them away. You and I will probably end up in the same cell once Biden's Atty General is done with us.......
More than just gun problems:
Salute the American flag or the national anthem, as we will not be allowed to repeat them in schools or sporting events.
The extra dollars President Trump let us keep, in taxes, to provide for our families.
Will not have to worry about choosing what schools our children will attend, i.e. charter, magnet, private, as at least some of those schools may be eliminated.
Will not have a voice in what our children are taught in public schools. The government will be able to have complete control of our children.
Will not have to spend any more dollars on the wall because the wall will be torn down.
Will not have to call the police when we see a crime being committed because the police might be defunded and we won’t have any police.
Biden promised the job of confiscating the all the guns of Americans.
Medical care for all.
Pack the supreme court.
Will no longer produce oil and gas needed to continue our civilization as we know it.
No more electoral college system.
Enter back into Iran deal.
Enter back into paris climate treaty.
Segregationists in back democrats party.
KKK and white supremacist back in the democrat party.
China is back in control of America.
Higher taxes for all but especially the middle class.
Total shut down until virus is controlled.
Antifa grows stronger and more rioting.
The swamp grows much larger.
The biden family gets richer.
I may be wrong, but It seems to me that would fall along the same lines as a poll tax.
First time he tries it - it'll be litigated out of existence... WHEN, ( not if) it gets to the SCOTUS, they'll shove it right down his throat.. .

Not defending it, but I’m pretty sure it is not $200 per year. It is just the standard $200 tax that goes with NFA items right now. It’s a one time deal. It would still be a lot because it includes magazines.

The biggest thing is the ban of online sales of parts, components, and ammo. That would seriously impact most of us.

The Supreme Court will be expanded to 13 members, and we will have four new Ginsberg, Sotomayor, and Kagan, types installed to take care of that.

Appeal to SCOTUS.

Down his throat it goes.

Chameleon lying chkunt.
This is just the beginning if Biden is inaugurated as president. The radical left will control the Democrat party and vigorously enact their agenda including gun control, climate change legislation, restrictions on free speech, restrictions on oil and gas production and all the other things that will increase the size of the federal government and destroy the economy. We will get no protection from the courts and elections will be meaningless.
Any such effort would end up in SCOTUS and would rightly be bounced right out.
I see lots of boating accidents in the future.

The SCOTUS could also uphold the ruling by a vote of 9 to 4 if the left has their way...

If they don't pack the court, SCOTUS might strike it down in 2027.

The Republican party better get hot on focusing on the Senate races in GA and doing everything within their power to ensure a fair and legal election process.
I don’t have much faith in SCOTUS. They didn’t save us from a clearly unconstitutional Obamacare. They won’t for this either. You will be better served to get in the ears of your states, particularly if you live in a Red State. Let them know that this is a no compromise issue that will open a Pandora’s box where no one wants to go.

Yep. If Biden becomes president, that's where our only hope will lie.

Good observation.
I'm sure glad they are telegraphing their unconstitutional moves before he's even really been elected.

We are waiting.

There is a movement among various state legislatures in the South to form a federation of states (forming a zone) that will not permit the enforcement of any gun laws within their borders (zone) that violate the Second Amendment rights of their residents. As I recall it, five or six states are already planning on bringing this about soon. Sadly, Florida is so far not involved in it, as the planned zone stops at the southern border of Georgia. I hope the Florida legislature gets on board at some point soon, though.
Really good list, and all on their agenda.

Things I think they might actually get or push hard I'll mark with a "Y" for Yes or "M" for maybe

Appears many are in denial as to what will happen if they are successful stealing this election.... packed scotus, eliminate the filibuster, simple majority vote etc...
Oh and they will steal the Georgia senate seats. They are already priming the cheat machine with poll drop box's and mail in ballots.....

Yeah, but that's real estate, the annual taxing of which has been part of our laws for centuries. An annual tax on chattels, however, would be unprecedented in US law, so very unlikely to pass muster.
Wonder if the tax would get past the Senate?
The Left has provided us the template for how to do this. We just need governors and mayors with the balls to do it. The Left rolled out the old doctrine of nullification with their sanctuary cities and states. We can and should do the same thing with gun laws.

The key to it all is living in a county where the sherriff doesn't enforce Covid or other unconstitutional laws...There are lots of second amendment counties in the US of A..

It’s not an annual tax. It simply makes semi-autos and magazines NFA items and subjects them to the $200 tax that has been in place since the 1930s. Doesn’t make it better, but that is what it is.

Erik Erikson on the radio yesterday said that there was a move to make it an annual tax according to his sources. That's what I'm going on.
It seems apparent that there exist no validity to the ballot. Or to future elections. So,,,,,,,

Isn’t this the moment we, well many of us, have been preparing for since like 1968? I would go back further but most of those folks are dead and gone.

One way or the other , I do not see myself being alive in 2024.
i don't think sleepy joe is gonna last too long, most of the agenda will be someone else's doing, and far worse

My hopeful theory is that after watching Joe and kamala and Kerry for two years, the people will decide the Rs were not so bad after all, we will take back the House and expand lead in Senate.....
Sounds like we had better win those GA senate seats.

Almost certainly, but what about the two years in the meantime?
Well, holding the 2 Senate seats in your state is the 1st line of defense right now & is a must have.

I hope that after 2 years of DemonRat Rule, people will maybe see the light & put the R's back in control of the House & in 4 years back in the WH.

The Demons can do a helluva lot of damage in 2 years though & with elections now & forever rigged, we may never win another one of any significance anywhere.

GA's Senate runoff will be an epic clusterfu^ck I am sad afraid....................

Exactly. They stole this one. They’ll steal the next. And if it isn’t this time, it will be soon enough. And I’m not saying we should give up, but we should stop counting on ballots and elections to save us, particularly on the national level.

For instance, while almost none of us were paying attention, they flat out stole Georgia...a red state with a Republican governor and legislature. They bought them. They put in the voting system they wanted, and soon enough they’ll go ahead and install Democrats there. Raise hell and don’t let it happen to your state next.

That’s right. Nothing more discouraging than coming to a place like this and watching old men prattle on about elections and all that. We can’t win the game because we don’t even realize it’s being played. Elections as a valid expression of the public will are over. Maybe they have been for a long time, but it should be crystal clear now.

I get the feeling that it’s 575 AD and we’re a bunch of upper class Romans talking about how the Roman Senate is going to get some good things done and save us yet. Sure, we’ve had some ups and downs. Sure, we’ve had to work with some barbarian kings and an invasion from the Eastern Roman Empire. But we’re still here and the Senate still meets. We’re going to get things done and it will all get better. Just wait, you’ll see.
If they win the Senate, changing the SCOTUS will be Job 1.

I've said for years ,"they won't take away our rights as gun owners, they will just make it expensive"
The only reason to ban semiautomatic rifles is that they are the best tool for citizens to remove a tyrannical government. Biden will pack the Supreme Court so he will be able to ignore previous court rulings and the constitution. This is required to ban semiautomatic rifles.
Did anyone mention that you won't need documentation for the "sale or transfer " of such guns so long as you "sell or transfer" them prior to the law Or the closing of the gun show loophole ( which they will try first) going into effect.

Massive non-compliance for Joe Biden's bullshit proposal will be the order of the day. Some folks will give his minions the ammunition first if they come knocking on the door for the $$
I don't have to prove anything to the government! The burden is on them!
It’s unconstitutional because the tax would infringe on our right to keep and bear arms. To make this clear, if the could put a $200 tax on firearms then there is nothing to stop them from put a $1 million tax which would obviously be a violation of the 2nd amendment.
Well a tax revolt against the Gun Tax is the answer and maybe it will cause those with more then 5 brain cells to come to a "next step conclusion": Refuse to pay the income tax too.
Money is the blood of government. Cut it off and let them come to understand who is in charge. Slaves will say they are not in charge and because they choose slavery, they get to be right.

Instead of donating to the NRA, we should be donating to lawyers interested in going out and fighting for our rights. The DEMs do this sorf of thing. They had lawyers litigating in several States the past 3 years to get mail in ballots mailed out all over the world and it worked and now we got a big huge mess...All this crap goes on behind the scenes not much in the public eye/ backroom deals, etc. We need activist lawyer groups to watch for this crap and fight it...We always seem to be behind the 8 ball, and the Dems know how to work the system...

That's fine and dandy if it was a honest election each cycle? If they get away with this one we will never win again. They will just crank up enough fake ballots each time to win.

You're a lying sack of sheit.
Do you really own an AR, and now you hate Biden because he threatens you with a tax?

I do own an AR and I do not hate Biden because he has no chance of passing any such tax, period. I never said anything about whether I voted for Biden or not. I said I would vote Republican against any Democrat senator that did not oppose such a tax. Now, there it is, twice. Please follow along.
one thing both sides do is ascribe powers of organization and competency in their foes that just don't exist. when obama had a veto proof senate and house, he couldn't get the things we worry about done. in a 50/50 house and senate, the world will end soon?

i know the liberals want to do these things. one nice thing that has come out of this campaign is that they have stopped pretending they aren't socialists.
Hey Leroy; you may not believe this, but this morning I saw a bigfoot riding a mountain lion

Sorry if your hero Joe wants to break it off in your azz grin Have you thought about joining the NRA?
I feel your pain. Is there anything else I can say to help?

I don't wonder at all. It won't, even if Georgia goes blue on both states. Too many democrat senators know they can't get re-elected if they supported it. Not happening.

Hush anti gun idiot. The adult men are discussing guns now

One more nuance, assuming the proposal is simply to add high capacity mags and S/A weapons to the NFA, those in possession would have to registered under the NFA, but as I understand it (and I could be wrong) is that weapons in possession prior to the effective date of the change are not taxed at all. Only weapons made or purchased or transferred outside of an estate at death thereafter are taxed.

For example:
d) Firearms registered on effective date of this act. A person shown as possessing a firearm by the records maintained by the Secretary pursuant to the National Firearms Act in force on the day immediately prior to the effective date of the National Firearms Act of 1968 shall be considered to have registered under this section the firearms in his possession which are disclosed by that record as being in his possession.

The odds of the senate allowing this amendment to the NFA is microscopic.

That is quite confidence inspiring.

I’m thinking that’s what will happen.

You do not understand how a communist country works. The democrats will be elected from now on until the communist government takes their jobs as well. Conservative will be removed from power one way or another. The republic is done if the democrats get into power.

Did you mean 475 AD ?

Nope. I mean 575. The Senate still met until at least 603 AD that we know for sure. Silly Romans didn’t realize that the empire had fallen in 476 just like so many of you on this board don’t realize that things have changed now.
If a Republican majority in the Senate is a priority, then why so little mention of John James having his race stolen from him by Gary Peters.
The late gunsmith Randy Ketchum went to trial for making washers for a wired customer with a copy of a Paladin Press suppressor drawing in the 1980s.
Randy used the public defender.
The AFF spent over $1M.
The jury was out for 5 minutes and came back with not guilty.

This is why firearm violations are often negotiated away for other charges.
If there are no other charges, the chances of getting a firearm conviction [alone] are slim.
That's okay joe, I was out on the back deck firing my double barrel up in the air, sombitches ran out the front with every gun I had..........................................
There’s always an executive order! After the progressive fascists pack the Supreme Court it will be legal.

Sloppy Joe would probably spill his oatmeal in the ejection port.. just before he went to full semi-automatic.
Fortunately with the amount of guns and gun owners in this country, an overthrow of the government would be far more likely than enduring 4 years of his BS.
Exactly!

They can ruin the country in two years, if not less.
This could be the perfect time to break the NRA. They have always been anti gun anyways grin
