This is the third guy in recent memory that I've heard of to do this in KY. Retirees build nice lake homes on bluffs over lakes, get complacent after a few years, go a little too fast or be a little too slow on the brake, and next thing you know they're mowing air.

If I ever had a lake home on a bluff, there would be a solid wall of some kind on the edge. That ride down has got to suck.

That happened to Armednfree but he only dropped 10’ or so.

Mowing with a parachute might’ve helped.

😬🦫
There are some really steep banks on a local lake I fish on. The houses are all multi-million dollar houses and have perfectly manicured lawns, even on the steep waterfront side. I’ve watched a few runaway mowers end up in the drink.
Reading the owners manual that came with my Kubota GR2120, it said that operators 60 years of age and older were more at risk of accidents while operating machinery. I should have read the manual before purchasing and bought a push reel mower instead.

Unfortunate accident for the retired doctor.

Nick
That is wild. Killed while mowing the lawn. I bet there is a nice view of the lake.
A doctor that couldn't even drive a mower? ...... I am shocked.... well not really...

I wasn’t going to say it.

Thanks for doing so.
Trying to get right to the edge instead of firing up the line trimmer.....

They've pulled a handful of hapless retards out of the sound that drove down a local boat ramp right into the drink.
My buddy found one of them 10 years or so ago. . Still buckled in. Guarantee if it was in the last year they'd still have a mask on as well.
I’ve got a few steep hills on the property I mow. Been doing it with a push mower which sucks.

This morning I took the JD e500 down the slopes a few times.

Fugg that ! Back to the push mower.

Better view of lake now?
Rendezvous With Destiny !!
Bet the view is even better with the fence down.

The retired doctors around here watched Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote instead.
Retired orthopedic surgeon with a lake front home on Cumberland.

Check, check, & check.

But a guy of that stature mowing his own grass? WTF's up with that?

First night the guy who built that stayed in it, he took a piss off that top deck. Guaranteed.

Bristoe's successful half-brother.
I can think of worse ways to go.

That thing gives me anxiety, just looking at it.

From the bottom?
I had a co-worker that came in one Monday and told how she'd been mowing the dam at their pond on a Cub Cadet over the weekend and managed to lose traction. She drove it into 20 feet of water. Needless to say, her husband was a tad peeved.

This was a COVID death, actually.
If the grass is wet I keep the heavy zero turn with regular turf tread away from the inclines.

The seat safety switch failed a couple weeks back, I cheated it and finished up. Ordered another that same day. I might cheat one of the "no start" safety loop switches but keep the PTO loop intact.

I sometimes drink when I cut grass.
Sounds like a future episode of Dateline. Does the wife have an alibi? How much was the life insurance policy of the retired doctor?
Classic example of someone being paid for far more than his intelligence warrants.

Yes, you asked two of the three questions.

1. Does the wife have an alibi?
2. How much was the life insurance policy of the retired doctor?

But you left out the third question:

3. Does the wife have a boyfriend?
I believe it said he went through the fence. Maybe dozed off or had heart attack. Maybe it was Tesla mower and went rogue. GD
This is why I have a lawn service... Tough way to go..
A lot of no plumbing crappers built just like that at roadside joints in the elevations of Mexico. Not about to use one of those, and neither would I use one in a house like that.

GET FUCKED...no way José!
Not at all uncommon on a ZTR.
We had a lady slide down a bank and flop into a crick a couple years ago.
Drowned.

A co-workers brother took a one week old Kubota ZTR into a pond.
It didn't flop and he got out.

The fuggin things are doing good, everything feels fine.
Then you lose traction on the drives and off you go.

Our yard is on an incline, but not steep, mostly.
The nature of how you mow with them, fast and out and back, coupled
with the traction issue combines to cause issues.
Even on the flatter part of our yard, going downhill, I have reached the end and
been slowing/turning and lost traction. Even just real juicy grass is enough
too make it worse. Surprisingly, hard dry ground is almost as bad.

No big deal for me. The grade is slight, the slide doesn't go far. There
is nothing to hit/fall off. But, if I had a dangerous spot, I wouldn't
drive toward it.

A lot of rich office types spend their lives not even being able to use a pair if pliers. And the more money they make, the cheaper they get. Then one day they say "hell with Juan, I'm not paying him to mow my grass!" ...KERPLOP.
Zigged when he shoulda zagged.
I don’t know his mower brand but those Dixie Choppers haul ass. Even with a 350 lb Parks and Rec Dept Bubba on them. Man tits and muffin sides all jigglin about.

Always looks like theyre runnin 35mph cutting grass LOL

I know a working orthopedic surgeon who cut the grass at his bay house. He begins at precisely daybreak every Saturday morning. And he usually has vacationing neighbors next door, of course.

Isn't Saturday move out day for the rentals? Perhaps the people who own the neighboring properties are happy with his habit because the renters leave on time, or perhaps he owns the company that cleans the rentals and has incentive for the renters to leave on time.

No rentals in his 'hood. One of the estates next door is owned by 28 family members who swap out on Friday nights. The other neighbor is a working stiff who likes to relax on Friday night.

Some get up to12-15mph.
Mine is rated at 8-9.
That's hauling butt on my not too smooth yard.
