My kidney doc told me to get 3 quarts of my favorite gatorade and 8 ounces of miralax
Samey-samey
Chill the fugg out the 2 days before, one small meal and just beer, clear soda
I did a pre emptive pre prep if that make sense.
Ren, that dude be eating rack of pyrex oven baked ribs, coiple of swanson salisbury steak family size gravy dreamboat serving, shoneys breakfast buffet, 46 french toast stix. Like its his last meal on this rock called earth
Sort of better then the alternative...but as a Christian not really!!
Well put. I am 67 and the unvaccinated wife and I tested positive for the Vid a couple days ago. What is the worst that can happen? If I die and go to heaven then I would say I beat you'all. As of now I'd rather have this than a cold!
😄😄😄😄 Got mine happening on the 4th. Afternoon/ evening of the 3rd and early morning of the 4th gonna be pretty schitty.
Usually when this type of thread comes up. You get the 2 or 3 that say they prefer to be awake and dont like to be sedated for it... Uh huhhhh.. Ok......
They rolled me in 5.5 yrs ago. Seen that tube with 30 40 50 60 cm measurements on it. Glad the last thing I remember is the nurse anesthesia person sticking a needle in the IV saying "375 blah blah blah going in". Lights out..... Woke up and all over with...
Had 2 quarter pounders 2 large fries and huge coke no ice please on way home.
Can't imagine why anyone would stay awake for this.... Saving time or not wanting to feel groggy from sedation reasons. Uh huh......
Or why out of all the medical feilds to go into why some choose this job.
I never heard of anyone being twilight or awake for it or wanted to be. But that’s just my circle of encounters. Maybe so
Docs tell me even when running the camera up my cock, they DO NOT want me awake.
You should be under General so that you dont flinch or jerk or make a voluntary movement that would cause something bad to happen like a tear or rupture.
A lot of people on here talk outta their ass too
Couldnt even get people to post pics of cholesterol lab numbers. Tell me some are FOS or are too dumb to have and maintain an electronic medical patient portal.

Life is a precarious thing. Can be snatched from ya at any moment.
The last good meal before the turbo blast for a colonoscopy is a treasured moment one might not ever see again.
My last report said "My prep was excellent"!!!
I strive for excellence!!! And having a most excellent cleaned out azzhole counts for a colonoscopy!!!
That tube with the measurements on it. Looked almost 2 inches in diameter that I seen before they knocked me out.
Praise the Lord for no memory from 45 mins of habitrail tunnel and what the fugg ever they was doing up my azz.
"Cold snared"??? 3 pylops is what the report said. Not bad ones per lab report. But they put me on the 5 yr plan. Report also had all types of pics from inside my azz... 🥴🥴🥴🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣

I won't be awake at all. I've done sedation for the GI docs at night in the past. I know too much to be listening to them talk about the inside of my ass without making comments and/or really bad jokes.
Plus, I'm a better people-person with some Propofol on board.

My Dad had colon cancer and died at 63, so I had to start colonoscopy's at 40 every 5 years. First two had to be awake, last ones put me out-much better. So 6 times so far and only a couple small polyps
Had the misfortune of my dad driving me to my scope. Keep in mind I had not eaten one plus extra day before the prep day.
I was set on going to Maggiano’s Little Italy for my pain and suffering.
My old man got all squirrelly and whiney making excuses about acid reflux. He pissed me off and we just headed to the house. He tried to pull some jack move on me a out him wanting go thru Burger King on close to the house. I made like I was about to crap myself so as to deny him. He got me straight home. Payback dude.
And to beat all, my old man has never had a colonoscopy.
My last one went well, the night before I felt just like a Saturn rocket. As I said it went well til they found that spot that just didn’t look right. Then everything changes. My chute is a foot shorter now and 9 less lymph nodes but all is well. Get them done boys. Its fun and games til they see the spot and you don’t want that.
Why would anyone who uses tobacco products get a colonoscopy? Preventative care my azz.
I agree. My buddy smokes and wore a mask because he was scared of covid. People aren't scared of cigarettes but they're scared of covid or colon cancer?
It's even more fun drinking that in the hospital, knowing the next day they are cutting out a foot of your colon...
?
Why?
Did someone kick you in the ass real hard????????????
Did the foot have a boot on it at the time?????
haha. Had diverticulitis in my colon what was MRSA. They cut me open like a deer and chopped out a foot of colon. It was such a wonderful experience. LOL

I probably had 15 - 20 cystoscopy's ( flexible bladder scope) and they never knocked me out. Med insurance won't cover it. The bonus is it only lasts for a few minutes. Numbing the little hole is shall we say uncomfortable and does not do much. Getting past the prostate is quite a bump in the road. Glad I got past all that but will be forever paranoid on multiple levels

I’ve only had about 10,11. Stent placements.
There are some sharp curves since the transplant is in the pelvis beside the bladder, so the bulbar hump, then some wonky twists and turns. My stents are flexi metal now, cobalt. So the procedures are spaced out further.
They put me under general also because sometimes they cannot execute from a retrograde approach and have to wheel me over to interventional radiology and punch the stent in from the topside, antegrade directly into the abdominal wall and into the calyx of the kidney and thread the stent downward.
Have had one done with only the lidocaine squirt. Nope not again.
Worst part for me was asking up in recovery. The doc was telling my wife that despite what she may have believed, he did not find my head up there. She told to look again. That he obviously hadn’t looked far enough.
2 flexible sigmoidoscopy before that. They didn't give me ANY dope for those. The second one hurt like hell. Squealed out like a little girl. Told the Doc afterwards that was the last time I would participate in that test.
Definitely do the drugs. Whatever they used on me for the colonoscopy is good stuff.
My dad had colon cancer. I'll submit to the azz reaming to avoid what he had to deal with.
Being 78, I only have do one more.Only because they removed a polyp on the last one. Once 80,they won't do any more
Yeah- like asbestos removal. I understand Sweden only uses 70 year old and ups.... Foggers gonna die anyway, why waste resources?
I've had polyps removed the last 3 - hence the 5 year plan. Only 2 more to go for me.
Naw. Asbestos takes 30-40 years to kill you. I got it in 76 or so. Not dead yet ,but not in very good shape Waiting for D. O. L. to approve O2 for me. Pneumoconisosi due to asbestosis they call it

Done 2 colonoscopies - no drugs. Don't like the drug "hangover". Procedure is miserable, but tolerable. A few more years 'til the next. (10 year schedule, for me) Oh - the lengths the docs go to - to keep me alive!
Never had one, yet. Every five years my GP has me drop a deuce in a box and ship it to a lab. So far, the results did not warrant a colonoscopy.
Makes me laugh when I do it. Reminds me of when I was a kid. We'd schiet in a box or bag, put on someones porch, light it on fire, then ring the bell and run.

Because of U-M’s refocusing on profit as opposed to patient care and the Covid Nazi management I’m almost two years late for me 5 year schedule colonoscopy. I fired U-M as my health care providers. Yesterday was the first appointment with a new doctor in the Henry Ford system. He was a little incredulous that I was this late for a ‘scope. After a few minutes of my listing all the ignorant attitudes at the U, he said, OK I see. Well let’s get you scheduled and back on plan. Sounds great Doc, I can’t wait to prove to the procedure team that my pylops 😂 are awesome. As for anesthesia, I’m a cheap date. I go lights out pretty easily.

Yeesh. No going under? I hope you let them know your safe word!
My first one was after a bout of Diverticulitis, was flying all over the world literally, not much sleep those days. After prep the Versed was great, woke up more rested than in a couple of years.
