Traditional stuff for me. I like to mix milk and root beer about 60/40 respectively for a cheap root beer float; Coke or Pepsi works okay but prefer root beer.

Another favorite is an apple and peanut butter or banana and peanut butter, again nothing too exotic.

Got a real sweet tooth but am trying to stay away from the worst of the "high fructose corn syrup sugar bombs loaded with extra sugar and sugar sprinkles on top" type foods. To that end, plain old graham crackers with a dab of plain yogurt makes a nice snack.

So, what different pairings float your boat?
Just discovered Sweet Italian Cream coffee creamer, mixed with root beer and downed with pretzels....
One fresh thin slice of pepperoni and hard salami and Swiss cheese, with crispy lettuce. Over and over again. Makes a great snack after a hard trek.
Ranch with a medium rare steak. (That may have put me on mass ignore)

LA Gas Station Fried Chicken with Jo-Jo fries and Jalepenos. Maybe a tall boy PBR.

Dammit
Jack Links Bacon Jerky and Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Chili cheese dog with onions, mustard and kraut.
Tuna sandwich & black coffee.
A tin of good Kings sardines, saltiness crackers and a dollup of hot sauce. Highly underrated.
I once ordered French fries, and potatoes, and gravy, I was rather young. laugh
Shrimp and fried taters. Delicious.
If we're talking snacks while in the field, some homemade jerky or land jagger with some nice cheese and an apple are pretty standard for me. A Heath bar or Snickers usually makes its way into my vest pocket or pack. Maybe some Jolly Ranchers as well to ward off dry mouth.
ham sandwich with strawberry preserves
Sour cream on half a fresh peach.

Sliced green olives on egg salad sandwich

A big glass of milk with either pizza or burgers.
Peanut butter and dill pickle sandwich. Friggin outstanding.
Spaghetti sandwich
Cold, fresh, homemade apple sauce on mashed potatoes.
Fry some bacon and set it aside. Scramble some eggs and mix in about 4 tablespoons of cottage cheese. Chop up the bacon and sprinkle it over the eggs with a little black pepper. Serve it with biscuits..try it
braunschweiger sandwich. little mustard and mayo, maybe some sliced onion. Delicious
bread roll w/ goat cheese and avocado. Add a deli roasted chicken and you have a traveler's feast.

Old backpack hunting lunch was peanut butter and bacon rolled in a tortilla.
I only experimented one time in 3 rd grade

Poured chocolate milk over English peas. It was an udder failure

Got detention for not eating it
Dad taught me the value of a ham and grape jelly sandwich, so 5sdad isn't wrong.

Mexican street corn on the cob is smeared with mayo and sprinkled with Tajin seasoning. It's darn good. I favor butter and Tajin on my sweet corn.

A tiny pinch of cayenne in your hot chocolate is an eye-opener.
With fresh ground pepper and or hot sauce. Same for pineapple.

Beef flavored Ramen noodle package combined with Boy R Dee ravs.

“Spewbens” - a sandwich constructed with marbled rye bread, spam for meat, Swiss, thou island, and kraut.

“Kitchen Sink” - Mac n cheese mixed with chili, onions, dogs, shredded cheese and sour cream.
Ketchup and popcorn. An acquaintance of mine years ago swore by it. Dipped the popcorn into it. I was surprised at how good it was. Forgot about it until this thread.
Popcorn and dark chocolate
Peanut butter and raw carrots
Pepperoni pizza in ranch or blue cheese dressing count? Or is that too common?
The title is totally messing with my mind and how I’m reading it.

I don’t have any “off beaten” foods…I eat everything except organs.
Beer and Milky Way bars
Yeah, I don’t do green apple wedges in wasabi Mayo. Guess I’m off this thread.
Really? Damn that sucks. I'll think about you, not sexually though, when I'm chowing one down this season.

Musk melon and ice cream as well.

Good stuff if you throw out the Pepperoni and use Italian Sausage instead.

One of my favorites is biscuits with bacon inside dipped in a mixture of peanut butter and Karo Syrup. 🤠

Milk is far and away the best beverage to accompany pizza.

After putting on a Fram oil filter.
Mayo, peanut butter and pickle sandwich.
Pickled 'shrooms and anchovy olives inna vodka martini & couple dashes celery bitters.
Sriracha, peanut butter and pickles on toast
My dad was a simple man for sure. Once, twice a year he'd pour part of a can of peaches into a bowl along with the juice & mix it with milk. Surprisingly good, considering all the temptations available these days.

Home made biscuits & butter with wild honey might be unequaled.

Good homemade cornbread with real butter is a treat by itself.

I do that only I use cream. 😉
A good helping of oatmeal with brown sugar on top mixed with fried thinly sliced moose meat and onions with pan drippings.
Some of you guys have GOT to be messing with us! Hahaha
Avacado halves filled with cane sugar for breakfast - or anytime.
I will try just about everything... yet some of the combos mention here would be a no go!
Frozen Hersheys chocolate bar dipped in Mrs Richardsons sea salt Carmel sauce.

Bb
Cold Puddin meat, on butter bread with ketchup, onion, and Tabasco.
Fried woodchuck livers and onions smothered with Heinz 57. Peanut butter, strawberry preserves and banana sandwich.
Real good rodeo buddy of mine HAD to have dill pickle spears when he ate spaghetti..... He dipped them in the red sauce.

Add an egg, hard boiled, and sliced cold. And I think you have gold.

Big double yolk duck egg.

Or any egg. Whichever.

Hit that Ranch with Tabasco Chipotle and I'm in!
Shrimp ceviche with mango insteada tomatoes.

I was afraid of that.

We are pretty lucky down here because our local Kroger carries Chick-fil-a sauce in big squeeze jars. Had some tonight on chicken tenders. It is like crack for me.
I ended up happy after a can of smoked oysters and a can of peaches awhile back. Worked good together, somehow.

I do the same, except I add in Frosted Flakes!!! Whoooo boy!

You forgot the slice of Vidalia onion ; washed down with a Budweiser in the duck blind for brunch

My wife is from Peru and I get a gut full of ceviche. I do like the shrimp ceviche when we go down there, but again enough is enough so I order the fried langoustines. I tell her it is "Ceviche Tejano." She is not amused. She says I disrespect her culture.

I tell her to hold my cerveza and watch this as I put Heinz ketchup on anticucho. I was damn near on an episode of "Incarcerated Abroad" after that stunt. It was pretty good in my opinion.

My maternal grandfather liked beer and Heath ice cream bars.
Read through the thread and didn't see grated cheddar on a canned half pear with a small dollop of mayo? Was a family standard.

About 45 years ago an aunt made me a grilled cheese and tuna sandwich and it freaked me out. Not too bad really. Do it once in awhile and always think of her kindly.

Island wife literally put a slice of vanilla ice cream onto a piece of white bread. My WTF?! was met with "Ice cream sandwich dummy!" Well yes it sure is....
Ice cream in cantaloupe
peanut butter on waffles
M&M's in hot popcorn
a glass of cornbread soaked in milk
Peanut butter and maple syrup on pancakes. Regularly
"peanut butter on waffles"

Tried some PB on an Eggo just the other day, pretty darn good.
Orange juice and chocolate syrup on vanilla ice cream.

Wow.

Add a

Scoop of vanilla and hot fudge.

That would hit the spot.
I think half of you are pregnant.
Simple dessert. Baking dish or cast iron, canned peaches with the juice, brown sugar, granola, add some apple sauce and some fig or a prune or three, raisins, dried cranberries, sunflower seed or whatever's handy and bake until obviously yummy. Don't need no fancy pie.
I seldom eat sweets, did pick up 5lb red snapper and 5lb of jumbo swimps.

Hit that Ranch with Tabasco Chipotle and I'm in!

And all the above on a buttered baked potato.
A big slice of apple pie and a chunk of sharp cheddar cheese makes a great breakfast
Asparagus with mayo spread on top.

(Poor man's hollandaise sauce)
Steamed white rice with jalapeno pieces. Buttered lightly.

Some of the comments sound pretty good. Others..., run!
Smoked kippers on crackers.
Pickled asparagus.

Good stuff.

Pickled okra too.

And herring.
Corn chips with smoked kippers

Kosher dill pickles and potato chips
Parm cheese and lots.of fine black pepper on my popcorn.

Light butter or olive oil.

That's stellar!

Like it with pineapple too.
I remember my folks eating popcorn with Nacho cheese at the bowling alley when I was a kid. Seemed rather weird, but pretty dang good. One of the guys on their bowling team was crazy about that schidt.

Potato chips and ketchup on bologna sandwiches.
Used to eat grilled peanut butter and mayo sandwiches as a kid.
Chinese food and scotch.
An old Czech doctor turned us on to pickle slices with honey.

Plain bagel with cream cheese and apricot preserves for breakfast this morning.
Slap sandwich. Slice of plain white bread in each hand, slap together, eat!
I just discovered Elotes (Mexican Street Corn). Roasted sweet corn, lightly painted with a tangy mayo, sprinkled with Tajin (red pepper spice with lime) and liberally sprinkled with graded Oaxaca (wah-hawk-ah) cheese.

I think all that together makes crack, because I'm now addicted.
Apple Butter and Cottage Cheese.
Stir it up, it looks like cow poop.
II'd eat cow poop if it tasted like AB and CC!
Peanut butter, cheese and Miracle Whip sandwich. It was all that we had once as a kid and it turned out that we liked it.

We spooned inedibles (shredded carrots and raisin salad) into the milk carton to avoid detention. Nuns never checked

Banana dipped in peanut butter then dipped into uncooked old fashioned oatmeal (not instant or minute).
Heinz 57 sauce on sharp cheddar.

Ketchup on potato chips.

Potato chips in canned baked beans.

Ketchup on hamburger dill chips.

Shrimp and cocktail sauce in a Ceasar.
" Sliced green olives on egg salad sandwich"........... Isn't that just a not off the beaten path "egg & olive" sandwich? It's the only way I ever make an egg salad sandwich, ( with a few mild pepper rings on it). Wouldn't make one if there were no green olives to slice up. Speaking of off the beaten path sandwiches; I sometimes open a can of sardines in either oil or water and with some mayo it makes a good sandwich.
Black licorice and Coors Light.
When I was a kid my dad introduced me to peanut butter and syrup, and velveeta and brown sugar.

I feel the same about both.

Too heavy.
I fry canned chicken with an egg mixed in, melt cheese all over it, put it on a tortilla with some pico and tapatillo sauce. Fold the tortilla in half and toast the whole thing with a little more cheese.
Peanut butter and bananas on pancakes or waffles.

OR

Pecans cooked inside the pancakes or waffles.

Hot dang
Dang is better cold the next day.
Mine is a chip dip made from mustard sardines mashed up real good.

When wife makes herself pancakes she sometimes mixes about a half a can of whole kernel corn in with the pancake batter.

Father-in-law used to pick the petals off of pumpkin blossoms early in the morning, chill in salted ice water for a while, then dip in a seasoned breading mix and fry.

Bologna and potato salad sandwiches. Mmmm good.
Chicken and waffles
Not crazy, but a classic, cream cheese on Ritz crackers. Smoked oysters on top if you got ‘em.

Cottage cheese and potato chips.

Scrambled eggs with herring roe.

Homemade cherry, blackberry, or strawberry juice in iced tea or rum or both.

Rum and ginger beer.
The old Lucy show, talked about pickles, and ice cream.
1. Old favorite: small toasted bagel, nice layer of cream cheese, modestly white salt the CC then add a very thin layer of onion, modestly white salt that then drop a slab of ripe tomato and celery salt that. Thank me later.

2. My girlfriend swears by orange soda and coffee ice cream. Also green olives and cream cheese. I've never tried either so try at your own risk.
Grilled cheese sandwich with Duke’s mayo on the bread instead of butter.
Jim in Idaho: Your "food combo" makes me sick!
Perhaps mine will do the same for you?
I enjoy a little dab of Cheez-Whiz on my Ruffles Potato Chips.
I only enjoy this "craving" of mine once every few months though - it is probably not good for me - but I like it.

chocolate shakes made with grape soda instead of milk are the bomb.
Vanilla or chocolate ice cream topped with plenty of peanut butter.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a fresh tomato on the side.

That's pretty good. The oil in the mayo works as the frying fat and the egg adds the flavor dimension of a cooked protein.

A friend of mine does them this way and when it's grilled cheese sandwich time at his house his boys are always saying "Let Dad make them" because he hasn't told his wife the trick and they like his better. grin
Vanilla ice cream, OJ concentrate, chocolate syrup, and soda. Pretty sweet.

How I do it.
Vegtable crackers with flying fish eggs on them. Jicama or celery with creme cheese.
I have to have a chunk of extra sharp cheese with my apple pie. I learned that from my grandfather, who also enjoyed ketchup, mustard and homemade horseradish on his sunny-side-up eggs every morning.
I got through the first couple pages and figured there must be a lot of pregnant women on this thread. They are the only people that eat some of the combinations mentioned.

Rum & Ginger beer is a staple in Australia (called a dark & stormy)

[Linked Image from assets.liquorlegends.com.au]
A genuine Dark & Stormy is made with Goslings Black Seal rum and Black Seal ginger beer, both from Bermuda. But in a dire shortage, any dark rum and ginger beer will be a faint echo of a real one.
Regular saltines with a glass of cold milk. Pop a cracker in the mouth, followed with a sip of milk. The salt turns the milk sweet, satisfies my sweet tooth and salt craving at the same time. Get it from my dad.
When I backpack, I usually bring a tomato and salt for a snack. Helps to hydrate and salt is needed when exerting youself.
After a night of chasing catfish, leftover shiners mixed in French onion dip on Ritz crackers.

Yeah, just kiddin'.... but would still be better than anything with smoked oysters. Tried them once and could sense the nasty, smoky fish oils oozing from every pore for the rest of the day.
Half gagging right now just thinking about it.
A piping hot mug of hot chocolate with a big gob of peanut butter stirred in is pretty tasty.
Has anyone said peanut butter and chocolate? I invented that.
