Slavyanka will often tell me of her dreams, in great detail.

I’ll remember I had a dream, but never remember details.
I remember some dreams from the time I was a child and even now I still get some in color.
I have always remembered my dreams in detail. Some dreams seem so real that it's difficult to tell dream from reality.
Sometimes.

Lots of reoccuring themes since I was a kid.
I dream of brandon all the time

taking lessons......

The One, that married me.
Most of the time.
I used to frequently have somewhat troubling dreams. There were slight variations on two or three themes. Since my wife and I have been together I no longer have them, only pleasant ones now, for the most part. Troubling dreams are extremely rare for me now.

Yep. The metoprolol I take for my fast heart rate makes me have some really weird dreams.

It's hard to say about all of them; if i don't remember them, how do I know. There are some that, immediately upon waking, I remember brief moments of. Strangely, there are some dreams from my childhood that I remember large parts of.
Do you dream in color?
Almost never….only time I do is when I wake up during them.

Yes.
I dream in Kodachrome.
I try to drink enough to sleep soundly through the night. Half the time I don’t even remember what I posted here the night before

A recent dream that I recall part of;

I worked for years in a steel mill. We had the 3 largest electric steel furnaces on the planet (400 ton rated) and poured heats averaging 350-360 tons. We poured into ladles that weighed around 120 tons. The ladles were picked up and placed on the caster by either of a pair of 500 ton Alliance overhead cranes.

I recently dreamed that I was being chased down the pouring bay of the steel mill by a leaking ladle full of liquid steel. In my dream I came to an opening in the side of the building and ran outside. That Alliance crane jumped off it's rails and chased me outside with that ladle.

That's a bad dream...
I dream about the Gulf War quite often, didnt see combat though
Dreams wake me up but I don’t remember them more than a few seconds. My hard drive writes to the hear and now, not the subconscious

So I don’t remember dreams

Either 10 years of drugs and 3 dozen trips under general anesthesia may have burned out that lobe of Fcukitall
Probably a shrink could pull some weird stuff out
I remember 5 or 6 dreams in my whole life....

AND, they were the SAME dream, every night for nearly a week. I was 8 or 9, I was riding in the back of the pickup on the way to grandmas house, we turned off the main road onto another road, at the intersection on one corner was a landfill, sitting just off the corner was a guy sitting on the top step of a step ladder, shooting arrows at me.........

THAT is the only dream I remember...

Anyone interpret dreams?????
I had a dream several years ago that someone was knocking on my door. I woke up scared to death and even though I was sure it was a dream, I got up and looked out the peep hole.

Good thread I remember some for a little while. The ones that stick in my mind always seems to be damp. 😉
Sometimes yes sometimes no sometimes very vividly. But it actually been quite a period of time since I have had any dreams or at least I don't remember having them whether I could remember them

I'll ditto every word of this.

I can sometimes tell my wife about some of a dream upon waking. Five minutes later it's completely gone. I can remember telling her about a dream, but don't even remember what I told her.
She reminds me of what I said, and I draw a complete blank.
I have and remember dreams almost every night . Once in my dream i knew i was in a dream and had full control . It was the craziest [bleep] ever. I was telling my friend , in the dream, dude we're asleep lets go drive around and do some crazy [bleep] !! Then i woke up. Apparently you can train yourself to do that and people have done productive stuff while asleep . Like read books , learn new languages. Crazy
I have the same dream every night with only the minor details changing and they are more reflective to things more current in life, but it is otherwise recurrent of a specific event around 13 years ago. I typically wake up around the same time and half-scared and half-pissed off. Even though I know it isn't real and I know its coming when I lay my head down, but my physiological and psychological reaction is beyond my control. The only time I don't have the dream is when I get piss-drunk. Then and only then I have a good night's sleep.

WTF? Seriously?
Yes, seriously. I won’t get into the details on a public forum, but you live with it.
Late Fall '82, I awoke from a vivid dream.

I was fishing with friends in a 14 foot trolling boat on a high desert reservoir. They pulled the boat up to the dam and let me off to fish over the front face of the dam.

As I fished, the water level increased, and the raceway at the Left end started roaring. I walked to the Right end of the dam to find the water had over flowed the earthen embankment and washed it away so that side was running as hard as the raceway.

I turned to wave for my friends to pick me up with the boat, only to see a fifty foot diameter vortex swirling in front of the dam.

Off the back side of the dam, it was over 100 feet to the river below.

And that is when I woke up!

Well. It only took a minute to consider the relevance to my life at that point. I had met a gorgeous young woman with a five year old daughter about six weeks previously. We had just discussed having her parents and mine together for Thanksgiving Dinner.

After a few moments reflection, I dismissed the entrapment in the dream as nonsense. As the truth of the matter was she was more likely being trapped than was I.

We got married about ten weeks later, almost forty years ago.
I remember very vividly two rock 'n' roll themed dreams I had as a teenager.

The reason I had them both was that I used to wake up to a clock radio for school, and I had it set to a rock 'n' roll station.

One started with myself and others sitting around a large dinner table, and some servants brought in a huge meal. The meal became a large grotesque monster, and even though we all stuck it with our steely knives, we just couldn't kill the beast. Next thing I remembered, I was running for the door, trying to find the passage back to the place I was before, and you know the rest.

Next one had me living in a post-apocalyptic world, and we had been conquered by an alien race far more technologically advanced than us. I was with a group of human warriors who had achieved remarkable success in fighting the aliens, bringing their fighter vessels down from the sky with stolen alien weaponry, and such. The reason we were so successful was that we were the champions, my friend, and we were going to keep on fighting till the end. No time for losing, because we were the champions.

Seriously. I still remember the visuals of it all very vividly.
I've never slept well enough to dream. And when I tried taking Ambien to sleep I died for 4 hours and then was wide awake thinking and figuring. Sure slept better when I passed out from drinking or dope.
Several yrs ago I dreamed I saw a copperhead and picked it up it latched onto my hand and wouldn’t let go. Wifey woke me up after I’d pulled all the covers off the bed and was beating the snake into oblivion with my pillow🤦‍♂️🤣

Same. Remember thinking I'll tell my wife about this.
Can't remember what This is!

Have sleep apnea, knew I had it for years before seeking treatment.
Didn't realize it, but I never sleep deep enough to dream
Got CPAP and the sudden dreams would wake me up.
I'd actually wake up excited about dreaming!
Last night was a series of one-hour dreams. Drift off, dream, wake up, repeat. All different.

I used to dream a lot about flying in Vietnam, but thankfully, that stopped. My usual dream theme is frustration. Such as, I'll be in a buffet line and at the end, realize that I'd not gotten silverware. Leave my tray at the table to get some and learn that there isn't any left. Then see that they'd taken my tray of uneaten food away. And then learn that the buffet had closed.

More like that.

I dreamt about Roman Numerals: 5, 4, 1 and 500...
A lot of them.

I often dream I’m back at work, or in school, but almost always I’m retired and working again, or graduated and just sitting there not worried about grades, assignments etc.

The work ones are very vivid, and mostly from the time I worked on electro-mechanical telephone switches rather than electronic stuff, funny because the former only lasted less than half the time of the latter.

Always dream in color unless it’s a nighttime scene.
Use to think I did every time I'd bait Rene into a rant but when I'd wake up and click on the Fire there he is still ranting away, notta dream.

The worst dreams are often of being back in school, and you haven't prepared for the test, or the semester-long project is coming due, and you had no idea it was ever assigned, but it's way too late to even start it. Things like that.

I had a dream similar to that in 1976. I was drawn to the door (in my dream) against my will, there were two men outside in black suits, no words were spoken that I remember, but it was communicated to me through thought that “it’s not hot enough yet”. That has stuck in my mind my whole life.
This morning I dreamt I was looking for a lost dog and ended up on a steep, snow covered mountain. Woke up before before I got off the mountain or found the dog.
Found the dog after I woke up, she was still here.😀

never a dream ,just nightmares
Along those lines, I dreampt the other night that there was a loud crashing sound in the room next to my bedroom, followed by a voice shouting for help. I woke up and, even though I knew it was a dream, got up and looked in that room to make sure. Nothing but two sleeping dogs in a dark room.
I dream all the time, some good some bad. My dreams are so vivid it's like living a double life, one life when your awake and one when you are asleep.

I have often wondered if death was the same as dreaming, not looking forward to finding out, but like everyone else I will eventually.
For some very unusual, and vivid dreams try melatonin.

For years I would dream that I got a letter saying I hadn't had enough credits and had to go back to school for a year. A nightmare!
Wasn't a terrible student, school wasn't that bad.
But I chafe at the level of control and the attitude of many teachers.
I hated school.

Work isn't that bad.
But I darn sure wouldn't go another day if I didn't need to.

Bet there will be work dreams after I retire!

I've had that exact dream with regard to high school. I had to go back as an adult, along with a couple of my friends from those days.

Sometimes. Big relief when you wake after a troubled dream and realize you don't have to deal with whatever problem existed.

I'm also convinced that the brain processes real life events while you are unconscious...for better or worse.
Being a shaman, I work and live in this realm. My ability to remember dreams is my bread and butter.

I find that I go in 6 month stretches alternating from no memory of dreams to fully involved, fully remembered lucid dreaming. It goes in cycles.

The majority of my dreaming, at least while I was working, was centered on the workplace. I tended to have really mundane dreams of everyday work. It took a while to figure out that a lot of this was prescient dreaming. That is, I was dreaming of stuff that hadn't happened yet-- usually in a 10-72 hour delay. It seldom provided actionable information, but I did get a feel for what was down the road.

Now that I'm retired and the Chemo is over, I'm starting into a phase where I'm remembering dreams again. The most recent have been about hunting and the upkeep of deer camp. It's odd, but when I dream about hunting, I seem to always return to the same landscape and universe. It isn't our deer camp or anywhere else I've ever been. It's a mix of suburban housing, open woods and construction, sort of the world I had growing up. However, it's all jumbled. I seem to be always late getting out to hunt, or I am having gobblers that hang up and won't come in, or I'm having trouble with my stand. Occasionally my hunting in this world takes me to a landscape of ravines, covered in late autumn leaves and bare beech trees. This, I've recognized, is the place that I imagined deer hunting long before I ever went. It is based on hikes through small patches of virgin forest that I went on as a child.

My recurring dream, which went on for years and years (it hasn't appeared for a long time) dealt with finals week at college. I would discover that there was a class on my schedule that I had overlooked and never attended. This probably was born in reality, as I would invariably have this moment of panic during each finals week and tear my schedule out of billfold to reassure myself that this had not happened.
The ones I remember are usually ones where I am failing to find a class in time or overwhelmed at work and unable to catch up.

Really gets to me, even after I wake up.

I am always on some construction site. Never been there before.
In a dream, me and my buddy were in a old house drinking whiskey
when he suddenly needed a bad tooth pulled . I tied a string to the
tooth and opened the door to tie the string to the knob,
Dwight Yoakam was outside and came in. We all sat down
at the old table and started drinking whiskey again. (I don't drink anymore).

I've had that one, too. Many times. Then you go around the college campus trying to find the classroom where the class is, and can't find it.
I rarely remember my dreams but a couple stand out,...although they have little significance. In one I was traveling with some other people in an old sedan that seemed to be from the 1920's. We were going down a tree lined road where the trees hung over the road and were so dense that it was like driving through a dark tunnel. When we reached the end of the road we were at a beach on the ocean,..out in the sun, with many people just lounging around.

Another, I was walking across a nondescript field and came to a large hole in the ground. It seemed familiar to me and I slowly lowered myself into it feet first. The hole was a long chute that descended down. The walls were very smooth glassy rock that gave off a soft, light blue glow. It twisted and turned in many directions as I slowly slid downwards. I recall thinking about how different it was from the field that I had walked through to get to it.

At the bottom it emptied into a glowing pool of Turquoise blue water. There was others already there and everyone was being casual,...just enjoying lounging around in the water.

I can't see any meaning out of either of them. The thing that stuck out was the stark, abrupt transition from one environment to the other and how different they were.
