Not country, but if you like Trampled, check out Mumford and Sons.

Especially their Live stuff.
I'd listen to any of the above before the big name garbage like Girth, Chesneeze, or Florida Cuba line.

I do like Chris Stapleton cause he shook up the pop country $hit show and actually can write a song that says something.

IMO, hes better with Steeldrivers or Jompson Brothers…
Zach Bryan
Ignore his political ideas and Sturgill Simpson has some good stuff. This whole album is good. Each song builds on the previous one.

James McMurtry is the son of Lonesome Dove author Larry McMurtry. Storytelling runs in the family
Tyler Childers just finished some taxidermy classes in Montana and has some good stuff.

Turnpike Troubadours are actual bird hunters too.
Good stuff thanks
Ck out Chancy Williams , a Wyoming boy. Played at the Grand Ole Opera a couple weeks ago. Up and coming .

If you like John Prine and Townes Van Zant ......

You might want to check out Blaze Foley ,Guy Clark, Shake Russell , Ray Wylie Hubbard and Willis Allen Ramsey to name a few.

Holly Dunn

To what's already been listed. Frank Foster and Chris Knight are some of my favorites along with Whiskey Myers and Jason Boland.

I forgot about Kenny Feidler playing in Manhattan tonight, so I missed that show. Here's a few from earlier today.

Sierra Ferrell, better live than recorded. Has a very tight band she is touring with right now.

If you like Townes Van Zant, you've probably heard of his buddy Blaze Foley. If not, you should check him out, pretty good singer/ song writer.

Lots of more recent singers that are good that dont get mainstream radio play. Hank Williams III, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Sturgill Simpson, Wyatt Flores, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Turnpike Troubadours, and Jason Boland are some of my faves.

To me, Don Williams, although somewhat famous, was the most underrated country singer of all time. Never got the awards he deserved. Had a ton of hit songs...

I'll second Creed Fischer and throw in Bryan Martin.
The rocks that many of you live under are huge! ...

Plus 1 on the Braun family. We lived in Challis, Idaho, in the 1980's and 1990's. The Braun family lived upriver past Clayton. The boys have done well with their music. Excellent songwriters.

Roy Acuff Jr. The son of Roy Acuff of country and bluegrass music. I have an album of his somewhere.

Roy Acuff, Jr. Biography by AllMusic
b. Roy Neill Acuff, 25 July 1943, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. The son of Roy Acuff, at times during his childhood, Roy Jnr. saw little of his father owing to his touring commitments. Initially showing little interest in music, he began to work in the offices at Acuff-Rose Music but in 1963, unbeknown to his father, he learned to sing and play the guitar. In 1965, he was given the opportunity to record for Columbia Records by Wesley Rose and a month later his father introduced him on the Grand Ole Opry. He played various venues in the USA and even toured US military bases in Germany. Occasionally he appeared with his father and in the early 70s, he sang backing vocals on some of his recordings. However, audiences made him nervous and he never enjoyed performing. He was much happier working behind the scenes and by the mid-70s, he had retired as a performer to become an executive of Acuff-Rose. During his brief recording career, he wrote and recorded several of his own songs including ‘Back Down To Atlanta’ and ‘Street Singer’.
Henson Cargill was another one.

Good afternoon, I hope that the day in your portion of Oklahoma is behaving and you're well.

Some respondents have already mentioned Corb Lund, so here's one of his l like. His music is sorta Alberta oilfield/ranch music truly, not exactly country.

Hayes Carll has also been mentioned, here's one that he helped Corb Lund write.

Colter Wall is the son of the former Premier of Saskatchewan and has a unique voice and style.

Anyways, a couple from the "not so commonly heard" group perhaps?

All the best to you in your musical explorations.

Our local radio plays his stuff and he used to play local venues but I haven't seen him lately

She & they did a helluva set, rivaled only by GM & Billy Strings.
The Buffalo Mtn Jam started when Gregg Allman was the scheduled headliner, this was the first show he cancelled the year he died.
May have missed:

When he first started, we got so tired of him playing at the local watering hole that we'd quit going! He definitely got better as time went on. Last time I saw him he was playing the Altenburg fair a few years back. I don't think he plays out like he used to, probably been a year since I saw them advertising a show.
Some real good music in here, gentlemen! I salute you!

Chris LeDoux (already mentioned).

Ned LeDoux (also already mentioned)
Sierra Ferrel
Benjamin Tod or Lost dog Street Band
Colby Helms
Thanks everybody. I added several to my playlist.
I thought a lot of you campfire guys had a
similar taste in music.
