Okay guys, what do you think about a South/Central Texas dove hunt get-together? Sometime around Septmeber 1st, 2011. I'm working on top shelf accommodations in a normally "burn-your-barrel-up" area. I don't have the cost yet, because I need an approximate head count and to work out details, but it gonna happen. Who's interested?
Too much health issues with my mom, unless something changes between now and then. Hoping against that becuase whatever would change wouldn't be good. Pat, I've still got your address so if things come together for you guys maybe I'll send something along for all the folks that make it.
If local indications are any sign there should be a ton of birds this year. I am seeing probably 10 times more local birds than I have in years.
I broadcast sunflower seeds and then cover them with a harrow and chains. I have never seen birds landing while I was planting until this year. One of the plots that I had seeded is about 1/2 mile from the rest. I seeded it first, then the others. I'd say maybe 1.5 hrs between when I seeded it and when I went back with the harrow to work things in. Must have been 50 doves on that bare dirt eating my seed.
Was planning this trip regardless so this would work out perfect for me. May have my son and Dad along too.
How far from SA will we be?
Travis
Not sure of exact location yet, but it is expected to be near SA. I will further that info as it evolves. I have somebody working on a place to fill our needs. It appears that a pretty good crowd is interested and that helps.

That'll work for sure. My time will be split between SA and Utopia. Keep us posted!
I think Pat mentioned something about "No Virginia lawyers this time"....
========================
If Pat doesn't personally call me and say it won't be the same without you so you must come hunt with us, I will take my hint, pout, and the Hell if I'll ever raise the status of one of your guys little clique get-togethers ever, ever again!
Have you got a ballpark price yet Pat? If y'all have room for a cracker Id consider coming out.
I'll try to get an approximate price asap. The location and price will depend on the number of shooters. Obviously, the more we have, the cheaper. I will tell Mark an approx number in a couple of days and we'll go from there. There is plenty of good propertie available and it's much easier to plan a good dove shoot for a crowd than a big game hunt. I'm sure we can arrange some feral hog or exotic stuff too, but until we know the exact location, it's best not to go there...yet.

Sorry Bob...my bad, I didn't think I HAD to invite you. I guess we're not as close as I thought.
Okay here's the list so far. I'm sure we will be limited by accomodations at some point, so first come first served. I realize some will be added and deleted.

If possible,Pat,please place a (2) by mine,as well. There's a good many on the list who I have been looking forward to meeting someday. Good on you Pat for undertaking the effort. Thanks.
Pat....just give me the marching orders and I'll book. Gotta find a place to varmint hunt with Teri after 9m.....if she's still not trying to limit out on doves, that is!

Keep us up to date on location will ya? Make sure there is a place with some stripers...
Now that I'm thinking logistics, Val Verde county probably ain't much farther for me than it is for you...grin...
Isaac,
SW Texas a little farther west than we were at 700 Springs likely has a higher density of gray fox than anywhere in the state and maybe the country. And pups will likely be running around in September to whet your appetite a bit....grin...
Pat's done it again,Greg. I'm truly stoked. I know Teri's hot but you can't let her use her red-headed,sexy prowess to garner her varmint shooting favors on that varmint-Mobile rig you created.
I am really stoked about seeing this gang of good folks again as well as shaking the hands of some new ones I've looked forward to meeting.
Possibly so Pat. I'll be in training for a new airplane, and they have me scheduled through August 26th right now. If the IOE and consolidation don't interfere, then I'm up for it.
isaac, we all know the beer will run out some time. "But" if I time it right more Doves will be missed than hit. How about a side bet handicapping with the sub gauges, ie. 28 ga and 410 against the 12 and 20s. Must be some skeet and trap shooters willing to play that game. Steve
We'll build the list of potential shooters, and as soon as details are worked out, I'll post them. Depending on the size and type of accomodations, we may have to limit the number of hunters at some point. I'm trying to keep the base price as low as possible, but locate an area where opportunities exist (other than birds) for some of our members that may be interested in something such as exotics. After details are lined out, members will have an opportunity to confirm their participation and be provided with an address to send a deposit.
Okay, here's what it looks like so far. South Texas/San Antonio area, Sept.2-4, shoot Friday PM, Saturday AM/PM and Sunday AM/PM. (It's Labor Day weekend.) Cost, including lodging and meals will be LESS than $750. (How much less, is being negotiated.) It looks like a very nice, private golf course will be available for anybody interested. Pricing for non-hunters is also being negotiated. I know info is sparse at this time, but I will forward details as they evolve in an effort to help with the decision making process and planning.
If that's directed at me the same goes here Bob. If it wasn't you can go to hell....
Travis

It certainly was. It will be fun,no doubt. Pat throws one Hell of a party and if Bart shows, the food those two put together will be superb. It might be a first for me,though. I don't think I've ever dove hunted when it was 120 degrees before.
If one or two more reprobates sign up, I could feel like you're down to my level...as a group, that is. Not picking on any one individual.
===================
Griz....please show up. I felt like a horrible host spending only a hour with you when you were kind enough to drive as far as you did for the visit.Plus, I left you with a judge for a few hours. By the way, he was impressed with you,as was I. Anyways, come for the hunt and I'll make it up to you.
Pat...in Va, tradition is such that there is always a huge BBQ cookout after the hunts. Here, although the hunt begins at noon, the action doesn't really kick in till after the 5pm hour. Is Tx tradition similar and will we be planning our typical cookout stuff we do or will we be staying off campus once the hunt/fun is over?
We may have to move a little to fields, but you can bet socializing is the top priority. I wish I could give more details of lodging/gathering facilties but that's not available yet. I'm thinking doves, stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeno, wrapped with bacon and grilled over mesquite. That okay?
Perfect,as is everything I've eaten that you have grilled over a fire.
You and I can do our annual store run for the snacks, sides and whatever else is needed. Great food and top shelf liqour is not even a concern of mine any longer when 24H folks get together.

Here are the details. Logdging will consist of several condo-type lodges near Concan, Texas (pop.224) on the Frio River, near Garner State Park. Hunting properties are numerous, basically from Concan to Uvalde. San Antonio is the nearest airport. Please let me asap to confirm you can make it! I will pm Mark's address to make deposit. Meals will be constructed by members each night, but if you don't want to fend for yourself at breakfast and lunch, meals can be provided. ______________________________________________________________
From Mark:
Includes: 4-days, 3-nights very nice lodging, some will have pools guides
Hunters cost - $675. without meals, $750. with meals non-hunters - $325.
other activities for hunters and non-hunters:
Exotic hunting, hog hunting
Golfing - There is a very nice Golf course close to the lodging, tee times need to be made well in advance. With it being a holiday weekend.
There's also a restaurant and bar with in walking distance from most of lodges, there will be a live band playing every night.
Note: The above weekend is opening weekend and a holiday, so lodging books really fast. We would need a commented head count soon, and a 50% non-refundable deposit sent in ASAP, I can hold the lodges for about a week on a verbal, but would need the deposits to guarantee them.

I would consider this trip but work will be in frantic mode and I will be hosting the 3rd annual campfire antelope hunt a few weeks later
I was told eack cabin/lodge/condo/shack thingy sleeps eight. Numerous properties to find birds, hence the "guides". I'll pick you up Thursday afternoon or Friday AM.

If you guys are gonna start being nice to me you can forget it. Besides I enjoyed meeting the judge and, with you out hunting, he didn't have to hold back.... But seriously, you have nothing to make up for. I would have been disappointed in you if you hadn't have gone back out.
I would love to come to this shoot but I am having knee replacement surgery June 24 and have no idea how things will go. Any chance of throwing my hat in the ring later if things go well? miles

Probably, if you'll know in a few weeks. I would be nide to meet you.
So that's EVERYTHING for the $675.00 lt? Lodging and the hunting?
My Dad lives near there and wants to hunt but he won't need the lodging. Can a hunter be worked into our group for just a day fee? He would probably also just want to hunt one day and leave. I think 18 years with me was enough....
Yup $675 for everything but the hunting license. I suspect there will be lot's of whitewings, so license fees will be $48 for five day Special Hunting license + $7 for White Wing stamp (for non-residents).
I'm sure we can work just about anything out as far as your Dad is concerned, as long as we let them know in advance.

If your dad shoots like you Travis, do you think one day will be enough for 12 birds?
Pat as this gets closer I am planning on sending you package for the group some cigars or something, and maybe something "special" just for Bob and/or Bart...
Nothing more fun than a day of shooting,at moving targets, while standing next to fun, like minded men who, with each shot and miss, fire off a volley of digs and taunts that would make Don Rickles blush.

Suitable for a 13 year old boy? He's never hunted dove and I haven't in at least 10 years. He's missing his summer camp this year so maybe a little bird blasting will do. I live in Boerne so just a short drive.
Kids are certainly welcome, and I think they will have a great time. I certainly hope some will come. That will give me an excuse to float the Frio one afternoon. Garner State park is nearby also, and is open through Labor Day. We may have to go one night.
This will be my first rodeo with you outlaws, and since I'm not a very good scattergun shooter, I have to ask........Is skillet shooting, i.e. off of wires, ground, barb wire fences, etc frowned upon by the 24HCF crowd?
There couldn't be a better group of folks to have your kids around. You gotta watch that Bart though. Stephen still swears Bart owes him a cowboy hat for losing a footrace.
DVDgeorge and my son Stephen with a chunky little Pecos bass "they" caught together.
Teri is pumped. I have to find out where to send funds to and adjust the length of pull on a new 20 ga. for her. I am probably due a new scattergun myself....grin

It will be great to see all of you again. Ryan is doing well. Bird and varmint hunting are some of my old favorites too. Would love to see you guys get in some varmint action!

Put me down for two with my son. As I live in Boerne if someone needs a SA airport pick-up and/or a place to sleep upon arrival or departure let me know. Also, my place is in an area along the Guadalupe so we have a nice in/out for a 3-4 hour kayaking or tubing trip assuming we get some darn rain soon...
After talking to my brother about the dove trip, the daughters, wifes and boys said they want to go...long story short: tlfw (2) is going to have to take the family to the hunting lease for a dove/hog/axis hunting weekend instead and not make the 24hrfire cruise. Sorry guys. My pockets aren't that deep. Maybe we will swing by on our way to Rocksprings...
Any updates Pat? RoadRunner65 is just jelous. Steve

They're probably scared. I just got back from the deer camp, got moved into my "new" camp and got a coat of paint on it. Then we had a little fun. The creek was nice, and some of my many adopted children found a good hog wallow to play in.
Had to watch out though, we're in severe drought, and these little guys are everywhere, looking for water.

You got that right, wish I COULD make it over there for that. I think you guys are going to have a great time, even without me I always wanted to take my dad to Argentina for the big dove shoot there, but never had the opportunity to do so before he passed away. Maybe one day my son and I will make it for a get-together with you guys.

in many northern states, that would be considered child abuse, Pat. just sayin'
I'm just hopin' they don't die from some hog piss related disease...their parents are gonna be mad at me for takin them to the only mud hole I could find.
Here's the list as it stands. The place is booking fast and I need to give Mark a "hard" number to book the rooms. I will give him our best estimate tonight. Please confirm (here on the thread) that you still intend to come. We want to make sure that we have enough beds without overbooking.

I'd love to come meet you guys. As long as the dates are good, so am I.
My coon ass hunting buddy's have scheduled a work weekend and dove shoot at our own deer lease so I can't commit to it. My loss, as I was looking forward to it.
I just sent a PM to each person on the list with the address to send deposit.
I also told Mark to reserve lodging for 30. There are currently 33 on the list, but I'm sure a few will not be able to make it. We need to get deposits in ASAP, as Sept 1 is only two monthes away and this is a VERY popular place to be at that time and others are trying to book the place. Mark said he can hold it for a week, or so, on verbal confirmation.
Edited to add we're down to 32 30 already, I may ask Mark to reserve for 25. Please advise.
I know several of you have, I just have to emphasize that this is not "a business as usual" type of deal for Mark. Well, the hunting is...no worries there, but Frio River lodging on Labor Day weekend is a different matter.
For those unable to meet the time restraints/cost of lodging deposit requirements, I am trying to make arrangements for tent camping with Mark on a nearby property. I'll let you know if that can happen.

Good to hear from you guys as well, Teri will need more then a Pump, I would go with an Automatic. LOL It will be a great time
ps. bring lots of shells the Whitewing are very fast, come to think about it all of those birds are fast... lol
Oh she's got an auto but seems determined to play the trombone this season. We are getting more whitewings every year here along the Red River. Believe they will estabish here in greater numbers within the next few seasons. Looking forward to getting into some good flights of them soon though!
Ran out and bought 25 lbs of 7 1/2 shot on account of they didn't sell it in smaller quantities, prob'ly enough to last me about the next 40 years Or about 250 dove loads, allowing for some loss while pouring in the field.
Just as well, turns out lead shot ain't nearly as cheap as it was.
Now I got my work cut out for me, good to have a deadline to meet. Gonna be interesting tho, I was previously expecting to be working up round ball loads in that flinter first and have 100 .60 caliber lead balls on hand for that very process.
Hope no one has an objection to me bringing a muzzle loader on this thing.

Birdy, you are planning on patterning that thing first, right? Nice choice, man!
Hey gang....Just got a Expedia/Trip Advisor alert. Airfare to San Antonio from DC at $262 which is about 90 bucks lower than my last trip.
Anyways, just letting those who are flying in on a possible air fare break.
Pat....400 cash should be to your home by Saturday but certainly no later than Monday. USPS said it depends upon whether you are out in the 'urbs or not. Thanks for covering for me while I was away, amigo.
Hey Pat....my son may not make it and Karen is still a maybe, since I have two folks by my name,if my kid and Karen can't make it,could I sub another best buddy who I'd love to show San Antone and the ranch? If you'd prefer to leave it open for 24H guys hoping to come,I'm quite cool with that but kindly let me know so that I can lock in air fare while the rates are good,if you will. I'm already booked at the Contessa,as you may remember.
I haven't gone back to review the thread Pat so forgive me if I'm asking already answered questions.
Well fellows I think I created a monster last week.My daughter was in for summer visitation(she is 13yo)and I thought I needed to practice a little skeet for the upcoming hunt.I had bought her a youth model 1100 20ga two years ago trying to get her interested but she never showed much interest so I didn't push it.Well long story short, after a couple sessions with me,I put her in a final practice session with boys going to state shoot next week. She held her own and shot over 700 hundred rounds that week. The insructor told the guys if he had a couple of weeks with her that he would have her outshooting them.Anyway the both of us had the best time we've ever had.
That training session was sporting clays.Case of shells fri and another case sat.She even hit the mini target at 90mph a couple times.Unless I seen it come out of the machine,I couldn't even see the damn thing!
Will most likely need a half gallon size dove in heat bottle for myself! Teri has a "Mojo"... ...We may hunt here in God's country the AM of the first then drive south to meet with you fine gentlemen but definitely want to arrive earlier. Looking forward to this!
Big bonus points for style, Mike. Wish I was able to join y'all.
Someone (this means youse two Roger and LT) NEEDS to get Birdy on video having at a bird with that bad boy. I'd suggest not stopping your swing, but with the look of it, you probably couldn't stop it if you wanted to, once it gets moving...
I have a 12 gauge Beretta 391 urika with a 26 in barrel that i am trying to sell i have a full set of briley choke tubes to go with it i am looking to get a benelli super sport i am open to trades for only that weapon! other than that make me an offer on this gun!!

Pat....for the grub I'm picking up for Friday night's meal, could you update this list as best you know, please? I know Travis has to bail and I think Mike mentioned he's probably out,as well. Lastly, are there hotels nearby?
I told Mark that we would have at least 15 shooters, and we are prepared for more. More accomodations are available in the area if anybody desires.
My apologies to all for making this confusing. Rick was kind enough to give us a "sticky", but was busy and didn't get around to it until another thread had been started. Here's the link to the latter thread.
Anytime Bob. Your latest package arrived and I put it up for you.
I just got back from a little family vacation in the Uvalde area. Man, I hope there are as many whitewings around opening weekend as there are right now.
Pat...Chris and I roll in around 11am. I rented a SUV and after we scoot back to the terminal to get Dan,we'll head to Contessa after some lunch. Figure around 2-3pm,unless Dan's flight schedule gets screwed up,or ours.
Is Friday a hunting day or do we wait till Saturday?
Looks to open on the 1st north of US 90 with special whitewing shooting on Sat. and Sunday noon til dusk south of US 90. Guess it depends where the fields are.
The last one you danced with there is probably still coming around. I know that sounds weird, but anybody familiar with GSP knows what I'm talking about.
we went every summer for a week when i was young, till i was about 21. i know folks who have never missed a summer trip there. have their camp site booked a yr a head.
Cookin' is gonna be easy this trip. Bob's wantin'to spring for Filet Mignon Friday night. I'm thinkin seafood (if you don't mind stuff from the Gulf) Saturday.
If things work out the the way I am planning, this is gonna be one fine time. About the only thing that could really screw it up would be a hurricane. They don't have those in Texas, in September, do they?
Bring water. I know that is something you understand more than most.
============================
I accidentally way over-ordered packages of VitaLyte for Africa and I will bring those for folks to supplement their water bottles.
Also Pat...found a great butcher right in San Antone who could prep up the meat for pick-up Friday am. Makes it easier for you,I'd think. By the way, I'll let you and Bart decide on the selection. If you'd rather have ribeyes for instance, that's fine...just let me know. In court till noon so, if you're around,I'll call you on way back to office.
my last little issue went away and I will absolutely definitely be using my ticket now. get in six o'clock Thursday night, and I'll track you boys down at the Contessa.
Let me know if you want me to bring anything....other than the obligatory mass quantities of cigars. I guess I'll need to bring a couple of wet rocks, since the ones in Uvalde are all dry. Pat, you got enough tires?
Dan has to go back Sunday,as well. Even if I stayed till Monday at the ranch,I'd be happy to do it. Just PM me your airline and time of arrival and I'll be waiting for you as you exit baggage pick up.
I shot an old 10 gauge years ago. It kicked a bit more than a high brass 12,but it didn't seem like the beast everyone said it was. I'm gonna take a pic of this little double barrel... It's a pretty little thing...
That's a little cutey. 410 bores are fun and I think I will drag mine along too. There's a gun auction this weekend here locally and I know there will be a cute little stack barrel 28 up for grabs. Gonna try to bring it home with me but auctions can be funny things...
Unless things change it won't be far off but we will have the Frio to come back to after the hunt.I'm not so sure if that is what I am looking forward more at this point.
The Frio is a little bit low at Leakey, it's more like the "Fresca" River. Still it can"t be beat in C.Tex. Hope Y'all have some nice Cypress trees. I wish I could make it. Money flow....
I just got in from the Sunday afternoon shotgun games... I don't want to be too embarrassed when the shooting stories start around the fire. I know that Dan is a crack shot. I suspect that Terry is practicing a little, since Bob has called her out. Bart bought a new 410 just so he wouldn't limit out too fast. I hope Bob cuts me some slack.

=============================
Truth be known,I haven't pulled the trigger on my 20 gauge since December. Post me on a phone line. I'll bring my Bose noise reduction headphones for the throttling I'm going to get from Terry.
So... If I go to the bar in the Hotel Contessa. Do you think that they'll remember me from the last time I was there? I'm still a little fuzzy about that night but...Oh well... So... What time should I show up on Thursday?
I hope that one muzzy remembers you,for his sake. Me,Dan and Chris will be there about 2,at the latest, but I swing back to the airport at 6 pm for a pick-up of Steve and a ride back to the Contessa.
I can't use a slingshot no more. Tears 'em up too bad.
Of course we've all heard of the man who had a wife who would look at the birds as they flew by and would "ugly" them out of the sky. He later admitted that she tore them up too bad too!
We're there within 20 minutes of the other. I'll have cell on but I'll wait for you there and we can then just shuttle over to the car rental place,OK?
I will be going back to airport at 6 to pick up Steve.
Will there be any varmint hunting going on? Straight up on the answer,if you please. I bought a FoxPro Fury and I need me some lessons. I'll leave it here if there's no realistic chance of getting out there.
You senoritas go ahead and bring your bries and camemberts with rasperry toppings sprinkled with glazed walnuts while this man knocks back a chunk of cheese made for men!
What with all of this whining about the heat? It's September in Texas...It's gonna be frigg'n hot but the nights are amazingly comfortable.Y'all are gonna be able to see the Milky Way and more stars than you can count. I love nights, deep in the hill country. Hey Pat... Who's gonna be designated to fetch me drinks?
Off the subject, but are you ( Pat or Roger) going to teach noodling to any of the guys ((eastern) while they are out in Texas? Wait the OK folks can do the teaching.
Unlike Texans,Virginia noodling is related to catfish, not trouser trout. And,noodling is a Louisiana creation and it was taught to Texans who didn't know that something had to go on the end of their fishing line.

Well I'm not signed up for a reason. You just can't do everything. Looks like one of the horses will at least make the Derby part of the weekend. Be a lot cheaper to go hunting for the dove.
What the hell,1st you want me to stab a pig with a knife now you want me to stick my hand in a catfish's mouth....
Fairly common practice to stick your feet in the hole first to block off escape. Then you stick your hand in their mouth. I don't believe they've made noodlin' legal in Texas though. Fella that lives down the road a bit here was on some TV show the other day with some guys and gals from other parts of the country. Took them all noodlin' in Cache creek just east of here. Beavers are the really bad thing you don't want to grab. Turtles and snakes will generally leave you be...

you pay my way, air fair, and get me out of work i'll fetch your drinks

I've not had the pleasure of shaking Roger's hand yet but I don't think I want Pat to teach me how to noodle.
As for Bart's drink fetching needs, much effort and time could be saved if someone just brought one of these to camp:

Drive to okieland then ride down with us. We will then call your work (using Bob's cell) and tell them we've kidnapped ya. We can even ask for ransom! Sometime next week you will surely escape our diabolical clutches. Whatdayasay sound like a plan?
It's not too late. Do you need me to try and take up a collection? I've got a gun and bullets waiting for you. I'll even spring for the $40 dollor license fee. No charge on the lodging...you sleep with Bob.
I went to an auction the other day and made off with a fair quantity of 12 ga. Estates 1 1/8 - 7.5's lead at a very reasonable price.($4.50) For the 12 shooters especially the ones flying in I'll tote some along and save you guys the hassle of ammo procurement if your toting a 12. That way you can just use what you need. I've got two flats of 1 ounce stuff too. Let me know and I'll bring however much is needed.
That's awesome Dana! I'm sure the guys flying will appreciate that. Are you bringing a .410? I have a couple of cases of 2 1/2" 7.5's that I am bringing.
Alright.... I just got back from planting my food plot and other stuff... I patterned my new little .410 and I have to say... I ain't gonna hit $hit... I do have my back up gun though. Doves don't like my Super X Model 1 for good reason... If the weather cooperates,we'll be fine. The morning hunts will be fantastic... Trust me...
That comment is so 20th century. Today it's radar tracking,GPS,speed-dial,text and fax transmissions. We don't have to leave our offices and with dedicated lines,I can have a signed retainer from gurney to my desk before ER arrival.
Pat...is there a TV at the place we are staying? If not,I'll need to find the nearest sport's bar for Saturday's 8pm LSU/Oregon game. I have 200 on Oregon.
And don't tease me about a TV. If Bart can have a Woobie the entire weekend,I can have a TV for 3 hours.
Fully furnished kitchen, dishwasher, central heat/air, Satellite TV/DVD, extra living space in greatroom, indoor fireplace (off season only), covered deck, picnic table, extra outdoor seating, BBQ pit, outdoor firepit, horseshoes/washers, and covered carport. Spectacular views, secluded area, and private riverfront. Pets not allowed inside home. Private riverfront property + 5 acres (no RV parking available)
If you posted that before, sorry. Thank you, though.
My wife, best friend and about 8 of their conspirators went to the Kid Rock/Cheryl Crow concert last night. Then they came here and played till 2am. Slept through it all but when I woke at 4am and came downstairs to make coffee, our middle floor smelled like the floor of a bar. Decided to quickly shower up and get my coffee at 7-11 instead. I think I've billed 8 hours already.
They said it was a fantastic concert but I was their DD for the one last summer and that was enough.I was in no mood to babysit and DD for a bunch of partying real estate agents and cops two years in a row.
I would very much like to be there to handle the ammunition concession and help you boys abandon the gay trail you've embarked upon, but I have a previous commitment. I can't speak for Scott...but PWed comes to mind.
I'll just rely on Bob to come to his senses and put you guys on the straight and narrow.
Pat...20 1 1/2" NY Strips, seasoned with their dry rub and Bobby Bolners sausage, hot and mild, will be ready for pick-up anytime after 830am,Friday morning. According to Joe,Bolners Meat market is on 10 just as we're leaving SA proper on way to Uvalde.
He also wanted me to share with you,and the others, they have everything else which might be needed and he'd even be happy to buy some coolers loaded with ice and drinks to have ready,if needed.
Had a box of Perdoma Champagne Reserve 10th Anniversary delivered today. We're good as far as the smokes go.
Got something special for our host,Pat,as well.
Those Perdma Champagne Reserve 10th Anniversary are very nice cigars Bob,good choice! Another good call with the bubble gum cigars for Pat as he seems to enjoy chewing on his cigar
All of you out of staters are gonna have to buy the Texas Migratory Bird Stamp. I got no clue how much it is and whoever sells you your hunting license will know more about it than I do.

7 bucks,I think. Do we all have to have one of those 17 dollar Fed migratory stamps,as well.
It's the Citori I'm bringing for my friend. I have the extended Full and the modified but wanted the improved modified. The extension chokes on a Citori look kind of silly. They're in my shed somewhere but,I'd rather buy a new choke rather than look through all my stuff. I'd also rather do that than buy a new shotgun,as well. Well, on 2nd thought, maybe you have a great idea.
We should be there early but will go see Caitlin between 5:30 and 7:00 tomorrow evening. She is stationed at Fort Sam right now and can not get off base tomorrow. (GRRR) We will hook up with you guys before or after those times. Don't let 'em put both hands on your shoulders there Bart!!!

You sure you want any constriction at all? I read somewhere that the yellow #6 dye in Velveeta wreaks havoc with a man's depth perception...
Dang it I wish I were able to bear witness for this shindig. Rock it out, gang. And my offer still stands: 20 bucks to members for each pic posted of other members doing stupid stuff/in a compromised condition.

Knowing some of the folks going on this... That proposition could break you.
You're unfamiliar with the concept, and profitability potential of blackmail, apparently...
better get to the ATM....many such pictures were taken...and many opportunities provided. most of the people who took lots of pics are still there, I just arrived at my water logged hacienda and will download the few I took tonight and start a separate thread.
i got some video, but it was hard to film and miss doves at the same time, came home early the truck voltage meter was showing a problem ( ended up being the battery). plus my dad was wore out, it dawned on me this weekend that my father is getting old and that made me a little sad, but I'm glad we had this opportunity to spend a little time together been a while since we went hunting together.
seeing you with your dad reminded me of how much I miss mine now that he can't get out any more....take every opportunity because when it's gone, it ain't coming back.

enjoy your time with your Dad while you can my friend...my dream was to take my sons pheasant hunting with him when they were of age..unfortunately we lost him in 1993... so it didn't happen
