Let's get the chit slinging started cool

I'm picking Carolina, Pittsburg, Colts, and of course, the Cowboys!
Posted By: 79S Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend - 01/03/15
Same here all home teams win. Like to see Arizona win but QB issues hurting them unless the panthers fall apart.
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend - 01/03/15
It's hard to root for the Steelers when you grow up as a Cowboy fan, but I hope Big Ben and the Steelers beat the Ravens.
I think that will be the closest game, and it looks like the Steelers RB, Bell is not going to play. That, and whether or not Troy Polamao plays will be the two biggest factors in that game.

I'm a die hard steelers fan I think that's going to be the best game all weekend steelers-Ravens always play hard
Posted By: 79S Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend - 01/03/15
The Ravens had a 1-6 record against winning teams lone win was week 2 against the steelers in Baltimore. The raven offense is sputtering and I hope it keeps sputtering

Steelers will still win. But they will need Bell the following week.

No matter the outcome I want to see Dallas at Seattle again. That would be the best game of the playoffs I think.

I'll agree with you on that one! But we gotta sneak by Detroit and GreenBay first!

Don't think we will have a problem with the Lions. But facing Arron Rodgers and Clay Matthews when they are both having a really good game won't be a cake walk!

Whoopee! we had 18 on the IR list. I really hope Dallas comes back, but they wont. The Packers will mop up the field with them. Detroit may too. Meanwhile the Hawks are resting up and getting healthy.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff???

The Offenseless Seafags have the #1 rushing offense in the NFL, they are 10th in Scoring offense, and 9th in total yards. They average around 8 yards per game less than the vaunted Cowboys offense.

You have to try to sound this ignorant.

Probably goes more towards without balance, a team can make you 1 dimensional and if they force you towards the 27th on the scale, they have a much better chance of beating you.

HW, these cheese diks come out once a year, they generally know nothing about Football and it shows. There's a reason the Hawks are ranked #1 in the power rankings two weeks straight.Really impressive after being 3-3 after week six. Then their teams get crushed and you don't hear from them until the following season.

Yup and he's arguably the best running QB in the NFL. Especially, on 3rd and long. But it is scary when he drops his shoulder and charges right through it. That's what gave AUB the edge.

Well..,no. He can't hold Wilsons jock in the running department. He's 6'5" and not very quick. Quick doesnt mean a 40 time, it means something else entirely. He's a plodding oaf in comparison to Wilson.

Agreed, this game is a shining example of why the NFL shouldn't even think of expanding the Playoffs and adding more teams. There is the top tier teams then the teams that are not quite there. These two teams appear to be the latter.

Randy,

okok is a mentally challenged (that is the PC term these days, right?) adolescent/teenaged boy who has nothing other than his idolatry of a professional football team. He's a knee-jerk racist who hates black males, except when they wear a certain uniform. He believes they matter, as in wins and losses define the world, but can't stand the fact that the team does not know him and could care less about him. He's rather pathetic, honestly, and not worthy of a second thought.

Largent was a stud. Playing with Zorn and Kreig, and very little as a line, TE, RB or other WRs, that he put up the numbers he did - against the secondaries he faced - is incredible.

Posted By: 4ager Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend - 01/04/15
Ward was fantastic.

Strong side, put Michael Irvin over there and call it good. Or Stallworth. Still, Moss in his prime (when he played to his ability) was untouchable and uncoverable.

Steve Largent was great. Really felt bad for Zorn coming to DC. He had no chance with Snyder and company. Especially, as a coach. Met him at a few of the club ceremonies and he was a super nice guy. Even smoked a stogie with him at the FedEx field humidor... grin

would have to agree, Moss was probably the best

unfortunately for him and the teams he played for, he had 10 million dollar talent and a ten cent attitude.

but when he wanted to turn it on, 4ager pretty well nailed it.

TO was the same, not as good as Moss, but a helluva wide receiver,

Irvin referred to Rice as "Jesus in cleats" he was very good, probably not as physically gifted as some of the others, but more than made up for it with his dedication and good attitude.

love to see credit given where it's due, evident many of you are pretty good students of the game and unbiased as well.

we've seen some incredible athletic talent over the years
Posted By: 4ager Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend - 01/04/15
Rice never fumbled, that I can recall. If he touched it, he caught it. And, he ran perfect routes. Ditto Largent, but without Rice's speed or grace. Put those two on one side with a true deep threat on the other and a TE with ability coming underneath from the single WR side, and it's impossible to cover.

Yup and he's arguably the best running QB in the NFL. Especially, on 3rd and long. But it is scary when he drops his shoulder and charges right through it. That's what gave AUB the edge.

You homo...Russell had 852 yards rushing. Hint...you're sounding dumber by the post Homer. lol

Exactly so.

Just got back from several days out there and it was rather refreshing.

I haven't a "team" in this fight (nor any at all), but the games do amuse me.

Now we've got only a 5 point game with 11 minutes left to play! I may be wrong, but I wouldn't count out the Steelers just yet!

Steeler's are going to need 2 TD's and at least 1 2-point conversion just to tie this game up for overtime. Gonna be tough to do with only 6 minutes left.

Are you looking at the stats for this year? Rodgers spanks Wilson in every single category....show me hard numbers that proves otherwise. Your boytoy Wilson also got sacked WAY more than Rodgers did, what was that about them having a better offensive line??????

Wilson is a good quarterback, but not the best. Certainly a smart quarterback who works with what he has and is also someone kids can look up to (getting to be a rarer commodity).
Seattle's weakness is the passing game. If opponents can contain the run and keep Wilson contained, Seattle is very beatable.
Their defence is solid, no doubt about that!
Newton is hurt, Carolina was lucky the Cardinals had virtually no offence and I don't see them going any farther.
Ravens looked good, not dominating but good.

Mighty strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary.

Your team tops the league in Grade-A pricks, and if the Super Fan Prick draft were held tomorrow, you'd be standing on the podium when the clock started.

Wilson is just a scrambling game manager,

NFL Total QBR - 2014 Season Leaders

You will find Wilson at 12

dvd,

Don't bother using facts. The mentally challenged teenager that is okok has nothing else in life other than believing what happens in a game, played by a team that doesn't know him or would ever care to, actually matters. He's a really sad little minor with cognitive and psychological problems.

The scrambling quarterbacks can give a defense fits for sure.

Trouble is, sooner, or later, they get banged up, or their brains themselves scrambled.

The great, "Roger the Dodger" Staubach quit the game when his own doctors advised him to.

Methinks we are better off watching the gladiators than being one.
The ones that live long enough are often stoved up so badly they can barely walk in middle age.

Ha, that's funny.

No one contemplates that if the 'great Bum Phillips' had ever let Rob Carpenter carry the ball and taken some of the befenses focus off Earl, they could have won a SB with the double threat.

After Carpenter left and went to the NY Giants he broke most of their rushing records.

Eye injury
Scott was injured when hit in the face by a football during a New York Jets mini-camp on April 3, 2002,[5] while filming a special for ESPN. He underwent surgery that night and was off work for a few months. Afterward he suffered from ptosis, or drooping of the eyelid.

Kind of like not voting Obama maks one a racist? Pretty broad brush there. I don't think anyone on this forum hates the Seahawks. Most just don't act twelve. You have made nearly all of us want them to fail miserably despite having respect for Wilson.

Back in the 80's I had a friend declare he would bet $100 the Bears would repeat before the season ever started. I tried to have a reasonable chat saying it is difficult and who knew what injuries might befall or players change teams (ala Charles Haley later). He was adamant and just silly about it. Well they lost to the niners in the championship game if I recall. I also recall he disappeared and never paid up. Point is he was WAY to emotionally wrapped up in it for any grown man to be and took their loss as his failure, as if their victory would have equated to his personal success. Sad and disappointing to witness. I didn't care very much that I had won the bet. He could keep his money but wish he had kept my respect instead.

If Seahawks do win enjoy it, if they lose shrug it off. Sportsmanship should be practiced by fans as much as the players they fawn over.

Indy at home is tough to beat, and you know they'll get all the close or questionable calls due to the "Luck v. Manning" match-up prospect for next weekend.

Bengals without 2 big star receivers. Green was one day away from being cleared. That sucks! Oh well.

They spanked the Broncos once, and I am sure they can do it again, IF they beat Indy. Indy has been good, and a home field advantage should make for a great contest.

Was anyone surprised the Carolina beat Arizona yesterday?

No, not at all....I believe if the Panthers go into SEA they will make a game of it. Especially, with their defense and Cam clicking.

Bengals tie it up, 7-7. This one should be good..

One story is, all the Super Bowl caps, and T-shirts made up ahead of the game, that go unused after the loss, is that they go to third world nation children.

There are kids there that think the Buffalo Bills, and the Minnesota Vikings are the greatest teams in the NFL.

He appealed and they reduced his punishment, allowed him to play and was fined $70,000.

They really need the running game for Romo to be successful, if Detroit can play their base defense and still stop the run and get pressure on Romo on passing downs like they are not, it could be a long day for Cowboy fans.

Carolina looks dangerous too, I have faith that Seattle will bring their A game into the playoffs again. Over this last 6 game stretch though, they have looked way better on the road than at home.

On the interference call that wasn't- well it is rather hard to face the QB when the receiver has hold of your facemask.

What a game and finish, hats off to the Lions. No shame in this one. They played a hell of a game.

If Dallas doesn't stick to the running game next Sunday, Clay Matthews will have Romo for lunch! Should be one hell of a game. I really like Green Bay. And I still think Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL.
Of course, I've got to pull for the Boy's but I hope to hell they bring their A-game, and the "good" Romo shows up!

That being said, I really hope Cam & Carolina knocks the Seathuggs the fugg out!

Wondering how Rodgers leg is healing?

Shhhhhhh! You'll bring out the troll from his Mom's basement wink

Good luck to your Panther's next weekend, David!
By the way, did you catch Suh's post game interview? Bless his little heart, he was crying his eyes out. cry

Probably cause his feet were still numb from last week
Posted By: 2Bimmers Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend - 01/05/15
Hope the Panthers bring their game on Saturday. Benjamin can't drop balls and Newton needs to run the ball better.

Sounds like there will be lots of Panther fans this weekend smile Panthers played the Seahawks close earlier this year, hopefully get a W this time.

He was hopping on it pretty good at the end of their game, last week.

Still, Rodgers at only 80% is still good enough to beat Romo and the Boys, if the Boy's ain't firing on all cylinders!

Cowboys got that first game (monkey off their back) .. Back on the road, it'll be a different Cowboys team that shows up next weekend.

Like Jaworski just said on fox sports SC. The Cowboys players add up to the bootom 1/3 in nfl talent, but they somehow to some extent manage to gel together.

That was a weak team. That fumble and bumble and then a sack/recovery? YGBSM.
I do like that Beasley the Weasel guy, tho.

He reminds me of Julian Edelman or Wes Welker. He's been getting a lot of action the last few games and is another weapon for TR.
