got to get the hood and roof repainted, clear coat has faded.probably just have the whole thing repainted original color. fully loaded.
Wow, nice find! What's it got on the clock,800k? Two wheel drive?
Or were you slipping it to the milf that owned it?
bought off the dad of my daughters ex boyfriend.
its an a older model 04 but only 60thousand and some change miles, only going to need have the paint done. leather interior in nice shape.
I quit dreaming about paint jobs when they became twice the cost of the vehicle I was driving. Three times even.

4 wheel drive v8, a little over 60000 miles.

one of my duck hunting buddy's owns a paint and body shop. it don't need any body work.
4x4? For $1K you stole it lol! Friend had one sold it and is now trying to buy another, regrets selling it. Great find.
That odometer must have rolled over. Either way, nice buy.
must be the green paint as the clear coat on my Tundra which is a 04 done the same thing but it has alot more wind burn on it as it has over 350000 miles
Very nice Roger, I need to find a deal like that!
Go ahead and change the timing belt, tensioner and water pump as they probably haven’t been done and it’s an interference engine. The 2UZ-FE engine is one of the best Toyota built IMO! Keep the oil changed and it’ll run forever
I'll give you twice what you paid for it..
How come every $1k vehicle I see needs $2k of work, not counting cosmetics?
The 96 Subaru purchased in 2017 with 123k on the odometer set me back $1500.
And it was a good deal. Around here anyway.
You lucked our Roger!
Great buy.My 2002 Tundra is the same color.Had the top and hood repainted about five years ago and it needs it again.Mine has 208,000 miles and I've never owned such a trouble free vehicle.Besides, lube changes, shocks and struts, timing belt, front pads once, rear brakes still original, tires and gas has been my biggest expense.

Wouldn't cost anywhere near $2k to fix that paint.
You could get the whole thing stripped, painted and still have $6k vehicle when you're done.
I'll give you twice what you paid for it..
you'd have to talk to the old lady about that.
I’d just get the hood and roof redone then go kill chit in them Texas senderos.
Good deal if the miles are right. You can get em round here for 12-1500 at dealers auction, but theyre over 100K. UNder 100 and you know the previous owner, you did good.
1k for a 60k Toyota?
Sheesh how come I never find these deals.
Nice get!
That odometer must have rolled over. Either way, nice buy.
Huh?
Drive it like ya stole it.
Cause you did.
Great deal!
Congratulations, looks like you have a nice ride.
Toyotas have a six digit odometer, it ain't rolled over. Wow $1K for that? Why not just insult the guy and piss on his leg while you're at it. Great deal!

Misstated
He got a good deal. The paint isnt NEEDED.
what I meant was I see $1k vehicles that need engines, trannies, most of the body rotted off.
Not a solid functioning vehicle with 60k miles.
Especially not a big 4wd SUV.
You must have some dirt on the guy or you caught him on the way to the home being committed for senility.

know the guy, he owns all the coin laundry's here in town pretty well off, he hardly used it and when he found out my wife was looking for a car, he offered it, wanted to get out of the driveway, just taking up space.
$1,000 is a good buy for a running driving 4x4 Toyota. Stop fixating on men and their urine.

I need some coffee... when I first read this post.... I was thinking WOW... 208K on original tires....that'd be worn down to the rims about now....
VERY nice snag Roger... the original owner must have just been tired of the vehicle to give it away like that..
heck a drive from here to Texas and back, for that price, one would still be money ahead, BIG time..
Finding a good one is on my wish list in life...around here, either neglected, abused and put away wet...
or they have 400K plus on them..
I saw a 2-wheel drive model with 180K for $4,200 and was pissed that I snoozed in it.
Still looking!
And here is what really counts. you could spend 10k to fix it all up almost brand new, lift it a little get it uber off road and towning ready and still be $30k+ ahead for not having to buy a new vehicle for the next 10-15 years.
Heck of a deal!
Your wife should like that, Rog.
Damn, that’s a steal! Timing belt at 90k, oil changes on time, and that 4.7 will run forever. One of the best motors Toyota ever made.
Dang sweet deal that’s fantastic I like those a lot.
Good deal on a good vehicle. Congrats!
3200 to get the whole thing repainted using dupont chroma base.
3200 to get the whole thing repainted using dupont chroma base.
Damn.
Used to be you could get a decent paint job much cheaper.
How about just the roof and the hood?
I would drive it a while before painting it to find out if there's something seriously wrong.

she wants the whole thing painted and 3200 is a good price, dupont chroma is good stuff pricey but worth it.
Yeah I know about Earl Scheib,,, I had them paint a Chevelle for me once I was about to sell.
I wouldn't have used them again if it was free.
Stx doing the right thing, pay and have it done right
I use to have friends ask if i could paint their cars, except for a couple really good friends i always said no. there is a good reason a good paint job cost what it does.

Yeah, shooting paint is easy. Getting ready to shoot paint . . . not so much.
Nice get, BTW. Keep it out of the surf!

Its for my wife so i doubt it ever see's the beach, unless she takes over payments on my stepson's GL550 Mercedes. Then I will use it.
Congrats 😎 I think you’re gonna love that thing, but in just 260,000 miles ya might need a compression check.

Do the math.
Congrats on a great deal Roger! Bet the wife is thrilled!
running good, my buddy mike will paint it at the end of the month.

this was already done by Mr Ritter before he sold it to us.

You got what sounds like an absolutely screaming deal on a rig, hell, practically free if it holds up and one that likely will provide years of dependable service in addition to having a high passenger safety rating. The first thing the old lady wants is to dump in excess of $3K on it in *paint*? What's next, spinny rims and a $4K audio system? Ay, Dios mio, que locura...
Deal of the year ! Paint it and drive it till the wheels fall off...
Tremendous deal. Any frame rot? Those older frames scare the hell out of me.
