Corporations certainly want to make money and I have seen the data about the relative incomes of gay people. However, we are talking about 2-3% of the population at most, so the market is not that large. I think this is mostly due to pressure on corporations to show how inclusive and diverse they are. This pressure comes not only from the LGBTQ interest groups but also from the Left generally. It's part of a well orchestrated campaign to normalize gay people and their relationships. Most corporations are very frightened of being branded as intolerant and the Left is very skilled at applying pressure on them to conform to the new version of social norms.

My Dad notices it and calls it what it is, but my Daughter said you can't judge people and have to accept whatever they say they are. When I was in 8th grade a new kid came into our class about middle of the year. He talked funny and said he came from Oregon, him and I would talk quite a bit and he would always tell me how wonderful Oregon was and tell me all about his outdoor adventures he had when he lived there.

I asked him one day if Oregon was so great why he moved to Michigan, he told me his dad wanted to move to get his family away from all the queers and faags so they could grow up normal.

I would say that money is the big driver but most of that money does not come directly from gay people. The Left is expert at doing boycotts and publicizing anything that can be presented as discrimination. Corporations are afraid of being on the losing end of a publicity campaign that targets them in a negative way and tarnishes their brand. If that were to happen, they might lose a lot of business and thus a lot of money. It's really about fear of being targeted. The only corporations that can stand up to this kind of pressure are controlled by people who have strong ideological or religious values, for example, Chick-fil-A.

When was the last time that you saw a typical single-parent black family portrayed on TV or in a movie? Around here the typical black family features a low-income unmarried black woman with several children who have been fathered by multiple partners.

Let me give you a more basic reason. Most of the big PR and AD firms are on Madison Ave in good old NYC. If you've never lived in Manhattan (I was station at Governor's Island). It might be a difficult thing to understand the dynamics of how the city works. First of all, It is a Mecca for every dancer, singer, performer, actor, model in the world. There are endless gorgeous girls in Manhattan, and equally as many gorgeous GAY men. The performing arts are areas the gay men gravitate to, as are hotel and restaurant management, fashion, as well as the classic arts such as painting, sculpture, and music.

Advertising is another area that employees a hefty % of women, and in NYC also gay men. You see, single heterosexual White women have a dating problem. Most of the men in Manhattan are either married or gay. It was explained to me that rarest commodity in Manhattan was a single, heterosexual, college educated, White male. Once that was explained to me in those terms, my social life went to places I previously only dreamed about, but I digress.

Since these single White women have problems finding single straight men, they hang out with gay guys, and have no stigma about dating Black men, Asian men, Middle Eastern Men, Martians, or Minotaurs if they can find one.

What does this have to do with commercials? Easy, they reflect that world. Two gay men raising a child. White chic with an Ivy League looking Black dude. White guy with an Asian Chick. Latinos/Latinas with everybody since so many are mixed race. There is no stigma attached to any of this in their world. Also, as MDpointed out, gay males often have 2 high incomes, one household and no kids to waste money on. They gravitate toward the finer things in life from fashion to household amenities, to food and drink. They vacation often and many times opulently. therefore, they have the disposable income to buy stuff. Another reason they are in commercials. AD agency team sitting around looking for an angle to sell customers product:

"Who are we going to sell it to?"

Look at who is going into education these days. Young people who are comfortable in the education environment that don't have the elf esteem to try the private sector and need the feeling of power and superiority they getting spending each day with their intellectually inferiors. Obviously, this isn't every teacher, but I have run across a metric butt ton of that type in my children's education. They have had a few gems, but the duds far out number them. It is not the same quality of educator that I had at my nondescript public schools. Most all of them wanted us to succeed. Very few were on a dysfunctional power trip. They virtually all were about readying us for college and to succeed on our own. From what we can see 40 years later, our group did well, and they were a large part of it. I do not see the same goals out these educators as a whole. They have an agenda. They are there for the paycheck. They are there because the benefits are good and you can retire after 30 years. In it for the kids is not in the top 10 for most.

I believe that a lot of folks that are gay are inherently uncomfortable with their own sexuality. They were never or usually not truly accepted by their parents, particularly their fathers.

Now our society has empowered people by excoriating anyone that disagrees. Anyone that doesn't accept is instantly labeled a homophobe.

My wife loves to watch HGTV, and especially all those shows that feature a "house hunting" theme. Although I don't watch them with her, I have noticed that they all have one particular theme.......for every one White married couple, there will be either a mixed race couple or a queer couple.

Now, anyone with a half a brain knows that those statistics do not accurately reflect the way it really is. But, that's how the people who make these shows want us to believe it is. It's not just those HGTV shows either, as the majority of TV commercials these days tend to show the same thing, and usually go even farther by depicting dumb Whites and smart Blacks......a scenario that we know is reversed in real life.

It is the goal of the Left, pushed by their Socialist views and atheism, to tear down anything and everything that goes against their beliefs. FORT MEADE, Md. — The warrior creed goes leave no soldier behind.

This is the mission of Fort Meade Army Reserves lawyer Deirdre Hendrick and Navy Petty Officer First Class Alice Ashton in their effort to save as many careers as they can of the thousands of fellow transsexual military members left behind in the ban on transexual service members.

Hendrick and Ashton, both stationed at Fort Meade, knew the ban had been coming since President Donald Trump tweeted about it in July 2017, but with nationwide lawsuits it wasn't clear until March 12 that the ban would officially kick in on April 12.

Having both faced challenges as transexual women in the military, Hendrick and Ashton jumped in with peer support network SPART*A (Servicemembers Partners Allies for Respect and Tolerance for All), to try and help 18 transexual service members keep their jobs before they would be banned.

Anyone with a diagnosis of gender dysphoria or a contract to join and diagnosis prior to April 12 was grandfathered into the military. Gender dysphoria, often referred to as transgender, is when a person's assigned gender at birth does not match the gender they identify with. Anyone seeking to medically transition from then on will be separated, or effectively banned.

When she heard about the ban taking effect, Hendrick immediately called his unit.

"I said, 'Look, these people are going to get kicked out if they don't get this fixed by this date. I feel morally obligated to help them,'" Hendrick said.

Helping service members get a diagnosis and verify transition paperwork with all necessary offices — which required constant phone calls, emails and even in-person visits to military bases — were partially part of Hendrick's job as a Reserves lawyer. But he and Ashton want to be clear that they're only speaking for themselves, not on behalf of the military.

"Normally this process, if it goes by in three months it's considered fast," Ashton said. "We had 30 days."

For a transexual person to get grandfathered into the military, they needed to see multiple doctors and develop a transitioning plan that then needed to be signed by multiple military leaders across different offices — some of which only work on weekends.

To get their diagnoses on time, Ashton had active duty members go to nearby bases every day to ask about cancellations for appointments.

"We had to push these people and get a hold of doctors," Hendrick said.

To add to the time crunch, there was confusion.

Hendrick and Ashton said military surgeon's office employees and leadership didn't know when the ban's deadline was or thought the policy might not start because of court injunctions.

"Deirdre took a lot of time to call units and say 'I need this person's signature and I need it now,' and keep moving it up and up and up," Ashton said.

Sometimes the person who needed to sign off on a memo would be on leave, and then that person's alternate would be on leave. If forms weren't properly prepared, the surgeon would kick them back.

Even by the last week before the deadline, Hendrick and Ashton said some leaders thought if the paperwork was just started the trans members would be exempt, or they thought the ban wasn't going to kick in for sure on the 12th. Hendrick and Ashton said they still hadn't convinced some people they needed signatures by the morning of April 11.

"The afternoon of the 11th, it's getting later and later and this guy is saying, 'I'm working on these but I can only go so fast. Why are you worrying about this?' And even questioned whether these were even my clients," Hendrick said.

"We were all really on edge. I was telling my clients, 'Look I'm no longer confident. I really don't know where this is going. Prepare for the worst.'"

And still, more requests came in. One service member only got a diagnosis a week before the deadline. One contacted Hendrick on the evening of April 11 with no documentation.

It wasn't until 6 p.m. on April 11 that Hendrick and Ashton said the reserves command surgeon promised the last five packets in question would all be exempt from the policy. Hendrick and Ashton said they both broke down crying.

"Every day since then it's been a little bit better but it's almost like a grieving process with survivor's guilt," Ashton said. "I just had to come to terms that I did everything and helped everyone I could. I can live with the fact that I did my best."

Hendrick said it wouldn't be possible for the Army to pay her for all the hours she put in over those 30 days. This was the hardest thing he's ever done as a lawyer and an Army officer, he said, including serving a combat tour in Iraq.

He's worried about people who are only just realizing they're transexual. Hendrick came out at 46 years old and hadn't known of a tranny person other than on television before 2014. He said one of his clients realized they were trans after seeing congressional testimony from a trans military member.

"When I realized what was going on with me, I was like 'I have to transition now, even if it ruins my career. I've been alive for 46 years and I have not experienced life as who I truly am. I need to do this,'" Hendrick said.

Hendrick and Ashton both transitioned in 2016 and said their jobs required them to dress and act as the gender they were assigned at birth, even while transitioning. Ashton said this led him to a dark period where he self-medicated with alcohol. Hendrick said his transition paperwork got rejected on the first try, even as a military lawyer.

"To think this could be happening to a service member right now or a year from now . . . I really, really worry about it a lot," Hendrick said.

Elliot Sommer, Jax Ullrich, Alex Tafolla are a few of those service members who credit Ashton and Hendrick with saving their careers.

Sommer, 21, an Army Reserve officer in Indianapolis, waited to get the paperwork in her own hands before it all felt real.

"I just follow what's in that packet and do my job, follow my duties and meet and exceed expectations. There's nothing different about me as a soldier," Sommers said. "I'm still meeting and exceeding standards."

Ullrich, 32, an Army Reservist in Round Rock, Texas, said that while her command is supportive, this process has felt like the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy all over again.

"It's history repeating itself. It's sad that we're going back to this again," Ullrich said. "When I let my coworkers know I'm transitioning from female to male, my leadership straight up told me, 'You're a good soldier. How do we keep you in?' It didn't even matter that I was transexual to them."

Tafolla, 33, a construction operations supervisor for the Army in San Antonio, Texas, said she owes Hendrick her life. Her paperwork was one of those five packets held up on the last day before the deadline.

"The government is making the public believe (being transexual) is a big deal when it's not," Tafolla said. "The people in the military are very welcoming and they're like, 'Why is this a big deal? Go back to work.' They're focused on the important stuff like readiness and training."

Fort Meade spokeswoman Mary Doyle said Fort Meade will implement the Department of Defense policy that no individual will be excluded or removed from service solely based on gender identity.

"Fort Meade remains committed to treating all individuals with dignity and respect while ensuring readiness, deployability and lethality," she said.

There are waivers for people who didn't get their packets accepted on time, but Hendrick and Ashton said getting those accepted would be even more difficult than it was before the deadline.

"We don't want to leave any service member behind. We helped 15 people but that's a drop in the bucket," Ashton said. "I mourn each person who is not able to be themselves, who is not able to transition or who loses their job because of who they are."

Phil Robertson got kicked off Duck Dynasty for saying the exact thing. I always figured there was a queer on the show's filming crew and he got his feelings hurt.

I can understand the younger guys not giving this homo thing a second thought. They grew up with it, so it is the new normal for "them." For those of us who grew up in the 50s and 60s (or earlier) we are deeply disappointed in the moral compass of our great country. Political Correctness, brought to us by the Clintons, has caused us old men to be concerned for our grandchildren's future. It is also an awakening to ourselves that we are getting old and there is very little we can do about the debauchery except complain.

Here’s my two cents. I believe these people may have been harmed emotionally in nurture or environment as little kids and/or they may even have a genetic inclination toward same-sex attraction just as I may have a tendency toward some abnormal, wrong behavior.

My parents and grandparents enjoyed MUCH MORE FREEDOM than we have today. Hell ,even I did when I was young. We've gone a long way in the wrong direction without a doubt. My father could order a gun from the Sears catalog and have it delivered to his door. My grandfather cleared land for pasture and blew stumps out of the ground with dynamite he bought over the counter at the local farm & feed. No permit of any kind needed. I didn't have to wear a seatbelt back when I started driving. Could smoke a cigarette any damn place I pleased, including in stores, bars and restaurants. No background check required to buy a firearm. Jut fill ot the 4473, pay the man and walk out the door. Got pulled over a couple times back in the late 70's early 80's when I'd admittedly been drinking and State trooper just told me to drive slow and he'd follow me home. DUI no big deal back then. I used to take my .22 to school with me in the 70's so could shoot in the basement range after classes. My buddies and I would shoot pigeons under the bridge at the edge of town {still in the village limits} with 12 gauge shotguns and nobody ever complained. Hell the chief of police knew all of us kids and our parents and would just drive by and smile and wave as we carried our shotguns across town. Try that today you'd be facing a SWAT team PDQ. We've lost a TON OF LIBERTY and don't you forget it !
