How can you guys look back and not see that things are better today than they have ever been?
Your grandparents were right smack dab in the roaring 20's.
They were not all in church all day long.
They grew up and got over it. My parents and grandparents enjoyed MUCH MORE FREEDOM than we have today. Hell ,even I did when I was young. We've gone a long way in the wrong direction without a doubt. My father could order a gun from the Sears catalog and have it delivered to his door. My grandfather cleared land for pasture and blew stumps out of the ground with dynamite he bought over the counter at the local farm & feed. No permit of any kind needed. I didn't have to wear a seatbelt back when I started driving. Could smoke a cigarette any damn place I pleased, including in stores, bars and restaurants. No background check required to buy a firearm. Jut fill ot the 4473, pay the man and walk out the door. Got pulled over a couple times back in the late 70's early 80's when I'd admittedly been drinking and State trooper just told me to drive slow and he'd follow me home. DUI no big deal back then. I used to take my .22 to school with me in the 70's so could shoot in the basement range after classes. My buddies and I would shoot pigeons under the bridge at the edge of town {still in the village limits} with 12 gauge shotguns and nobody ever complained. Hell the chief of police knew all of us kids and our parents and would just drive by and smile and wave as we carried our shotguns across town. Try that today you'd be facing a SWAT team PDQ. We've lost a TON OF LIBERTY and don't you forget it ! Oh yeah and queers stayed in the fuggin closet and kept their deviant behavior to themselves rather than rubbing it in everyones face with pride back then too. Bingo!
