Well, they are dangerous, nearly as dangerous as those other inanimate objects we here love.

It might just start by itself and cut a kid............................if it'll save one child, no?

Will Liberty and Canon come out with chain saw safes?

Geno

PS, that saw wasn't purchased in Kommiefornia, was it?

You gotta turn that lock to light that saw up? You gotta be kidding me.

Last place I want to start looking for a lost/dropped key is in the middle of a forest or a pile of chips.

Oh crap. On my phone. I thought you were making a joke with a pic of the air cleaner cover. Then I blew it up a bit.

Does it take an actual key? A screwdriver? Or a knurled knob?

It's the top cover lock... laugh

The chain bar kickback safety lever is the only chain lock. No key required.

I was wondering when someone would figure it out! grin

My OLD 031AV has a twisty knob.

I believe it is a four position lever that controls choke and run positions plus off. Looks like some over reactions may be present in this thread.

The choke/run lever has no “lock” position.

Pic is referencing the round button that shows a lock/unlock position.

Turns out it’s to be operated via the wrench/screw driver tool.

Not as bad as the stupid oval adjustment screws on the carborator. What the hell?

There's no carb adjustment on baby 170 I got.

You have to register chain saws here in ID so my friend took his in to get the serial number verified and register it but they told him that his Husky didn't really qualify as a chain saw.

Okay, the padlock icons were enough to fool me. My 20 year old Stihl looks much like that, except, that knob is knurled on the top end and threaded on the bottom.

I believe that depends on how much room there is in your pants and how adventurous you are feeling.
