Always a lot of talk by us members; mostly piss - moan bitching about politics, and politicians, both local and federal.

There’s always a few members who are committed State haters for the East and West Coast cities because of the Liberal ideology that has perversely fûcked these two demographics.

And, to a certain degree, spawned a mentality that has and continues to migrate into other Red States. This migration has caused slow changes in the bigger cities political climate where Liberal ideals are or will be felt across those States.

If you could make America how you want it....What’s it look like?

Grateful.

Too many people, living too close to each other. If you’re a city slicker, you may like the offerings of culture, food, and entertainment that comes with high density living.

If you’re an escapee from a large city, you may have found your way into the burbs, which might have been great for 5-6 years until everyone else wanted your suburban lifestyle and joined you...Now, you may be living in an area that’s about to get annexed back into the city boundary. Welcome to the suburbs.

Me, I had both city and burb living when my career drove my homestead location. Once I gave the middle finger to corporate America and moved back to my hometown in the sticks. Life has been great!

PS
I still hate people....😎

I wish it would warm up a little here. Winter just doesn't want to let go this year. We got 5" of snow two weekends ago. Of course it warmed up and melted off in a couple days but now she's snowing again and the ground is covered with maybe 2" of fresh powder.

I would require our schools and especially our teachers to be proud of our nation and her unique heritage. I grew up thinking that I’d really hit the lucky jackpot merely by being born here.
I grew up in a country that everybody else envied, and everybody wanted to move here because it was the land of opportunity.
We had a heritage of freedom. We had sent our own soldiers by the thousands and spent our own money by the millions to defend our freedom and to secure that freedom for people who couldn’t get it themselves.
I saw children my own age in other countries who loved and admired American Soldiers because of what they represented.
I loved my America, and my America was worth fighting for and possibly dying for, because my America offered the same opportunities to my children and their children.
Teach our kids that America is worth defending and teach them why they should love her. That alone would fix many of the problems we face right now.

Without getting into religion or philosophy, there are three core principles that are fading from our ethos with the onslaught of progressive incrementalism- self determination, self reliance, and self responsibility.

Slum, there’s only one solution I’ve been told. Testosterone injections are supposed to shrink your sack up to 6th grader tight.

You could also try duct taping a water wing to your balls.

Either way, good luck....

My America is an empire in the first stages of decline. None of the great historical empires have been defeated by foreign invaders. They have all been defeated from within. The scism that started in the '60s has grown and has so far resulted in erosion of many of our traditional values. That erosion and decline will continue until the communists, LGBTQ, gimme dats, lazy parasites, drug addicted criminals, and the sleezy politicians that exploit them in the unbridled pursuit of power, are the majority and control our republic. They will declare this country to be democratic socialist and turn the heartland, into the same cesspool that they have created in California. Then some weakling country like Mexico or Cuba may simply cross the border and take contriol. That time may be several decades away, and that's when historians will say the empire fell. But, it started sixty years ago and is continuing today.

It’s still on the closet floor.

I gotta post some pics, before I turn this thread into thread about taking a crap in a box and mailing it to someone.

My thread Slummy....Ren and Stimpy are always welcome to free ball on anything I author.

Back to shîtting in a box...I’m just twisted up about taking a dump or figuratively playing with a turd to wrangle it into its packaging.

Tried to recruit the wife to do it for me....That was well received for sure - she said “I’m not touching your shît”. So, the box sits and waits.

There is not much of Wyoming that I don't really, really like. Our 48th anniversary was May 6 and is the 1st time in >10 years that we didn't celebrate in Cody, Jackson or Lander.

Yeah,...when I'm not mowing or cutting stuff down. The last people that lived here let it get grown up a bit.
Summed up in one link.

We had a pair of Bald Eagles dogfighting over the farm today. I didn’t have time to get camera. The wind was blowing 30mph and they covered lots of ground fast. It was cool to see though.

My America? Try 1875. Certainly no later than 1930. Matter of fact, Prohibition would likely have seen me running ‘shine, just from spite. Would have been nice to live back when government was still too small to mess with everyday life much. Wife gets to hear it when we go walking in the local cemetery here, those tombstones with dates in the 1800’s get me started. I would have been fine in the early 1800s too, but I sure like repeating firearms and cartridge ammunition.

The area got smacked with high winds, hail and a twister or two last week. My America was driving around and helping neighbors cut the downed trees off the gravel roads. All of us that were able were out with saws and equipment as soon as the rain slowed, had local roads mostly cleared before the county ever showed up. Good times, seems it takes a bit of trouble to get neighbors working together, but I am sure glad I live among folks that work together when they need to, and don’t sit around whining waiting for government to rescue them. Power will not be back on to all of town until Tuesday or Wednesday, went out last Monday. Everybody just adapts and rolls on. Try that in New Yawk or LA...
You let people fish in that?

Putting down the seat and sitting on that works pretty well for me.
If I were King; two years mandatory Service, incorporating military basic training a the start.

These people could be assigned anywhere, for a variety of tasks, from watching our borders to fixing potholes with the stipulation they have to be assigned somewhere far from where they grew up among completely different people.

No idea how this would work economically.

I figured giving people skin in the game, plus getting them out of the neighborhood to actually see the great action they are lucky enough to be born into.

YMMV

Hell yes my brother....Makes a man or women feel free when that’s your sight picture.

Eerrrrk! Then a man and woman, we’ll call them a couple, walk past your property and smirk, then shake their heads at your boat, RV, ATV, and your dog roaming around off lead.

You say to them “What”? They say, “Oh, where we’re from any recreational toys have to be inside a garage and dogs have to be on a leash”.

You say???

We really do live in the greatest country in the history of Earth.

And if we are talking (North)America I would say for the most part we are brothers and sisters with Canada.

Could you ask for a better neighbor?

I think I can say that I live in my spot on Earth. Although I pretty much found it by accident.

I've wandered around the country quite a bit and seen some very nice places. But for "living", I've not seen any place that suits me better than central Kentucky.

It's still fairly free here if you stay away from Lexington and Louisville.

Sam,

Having lived just shy of five years in Alberta, no. The boys would agree. Middle one went through and graduated high school there (same school our Doc Rocket graduated from so 30+ years prior). He and his Alberta buddies hook up every few years either in Sandpoint or, last 4th of July, here in Texas. Much like my Australian friends and neighbors some years later.

It would start like this:
A ship sails into port and many people called it a “Slave” ship.
The authorities examined the ship and found African tribesmen chained together in the hold of the ship.
The Captain and crew were hung and the US Navy returned the tribesmen across the Atlantic to their rightful homes.

Right over my folks house. Kids and Grandma saw it. Shook the house!

Then the other one buzzed the wife and Grandpa while they were combining (dont ask).

Right.

My America looks a bit grim

It has about 400 politicians & bureaucrats hanging from lampposts as the new Congress goes into session

All enemies both foreign & domestic

It’s the domestic enemies of the Constitution that concern me the most presently
i've said it many times to my kids and other youth i have been involved with.

everyone obeys the law, works for a living, pays their taxes, takes care of their family, gives back to their country/community and has a reverence for their creator. a good judge of whether you're living right is to ask yourself "if everyone lived like i do, would the world be a better or worse place?"

The BSA tenants sum it up pretty well.

Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is:

TRUSTWORTHY. Tell the truth and keep promises. People can depend on you.

LOYAL. Show that you care about your family, friends, Scout leaders, school, and country.

HELPFUL. Volunteer to help others without expecting a reward.

FRIENDLY. Be a friend to everyone, even people who are very different from you.

COURTEOUS. Be polite to everyone and always use good manners.

KIND. Treat others as you want to be treated. Never harm or kill any living thing without good reason.

OBEDIENT. Follow the rules of your family, school, and pack. Obey the laws of your community and country.

CHEERFUL. Look for the bright side of life. Cheerfully do tasks that come your way. Try to help others be happy.

THRIFTY. Work to pay your own way. Try not to be wasteful. Use time, food, supplies, and natural resources wisely.

BRAVE. Face difficult situations even when you feel afraid. Do what you think is right despite what others might be doing or saying.

CLEAN. Keep your body and mind fit. Help keep your home and community clean.

REVERENT. Be reverent toward God. Be faithful in your religious duties. Respect the beliefs of others.
Stepford wives.............

You just need a traveling booster seat.

I owned a couple of Seville’s, while my brother liked the Coupe Deville’s. My other, older brother was a Porsche 911 lover.

We all worked for Ma Bell selling Yellow Pages Advertising....Think tv show Mad Men, but selling Yellow Pages. That’s was us.

Made a fortune back in the late 70’s thru middle 80’s until Judge Green broke up all the Bell Companies. Ahh, the good ol days!

Wish I still had my '71 Coupe. Even with the small motor and two bad cylinders it had a whole bunch of power!

Wish more they still made cars like that which would get 30 MPG like our RAV4 and never need a bolt turned for 200K miles.

This occurs frequently in My America. We get to see them from our living room window or our back deck.

Best reply of the thread.

I'd add two more principals: Compassion, and selflessness.

Self determination, self reliance, and self responsibility doesn't mean it has to be a dog eat dog world, every man for himself existence.

Self determination, self reliance, and self responsibility *can* exist, and I would argue, thrives, with some semblance of compassion and selflessness. I don't think our country would have been founded if we didn't have each other's backs early on.

This
Well, for starters I would infuse the qualities of the WWII generation into today’s culture. I really miss those folks. We were lucky to have several in the area that had a lot of influence on us, as we grew up. They were just straight up, quality folks. Several of them were quail hunters. We loved to hear them argue about the best bird dogs/shotguns. They kept us in line, helping us along the way. We could certainly use many of their qualities and their grit today.

During the pandemic, the wife puts mail, shipping, and groceries in quarantine.

I got a piece of fruit outside of protocol, and the wife fenced off her quarantine area.

Could be, it was from the Las Vegas Review Journal site, you would think they would know, but they are journalists.

Beaver10: Are YOU saying that "I" as an American taxpayer, non-felon, upstanding citizen and continuous voter for 52 years now, do NOT have the right to "bitch and moan"?
Well if you are saying that then I say to you GFY!

It’s a shame what the Ash borers did to our woods!!
I’ve got hundreds of dead ash.
About two or three years ago they were all healthy.
Bark beetles here, they are killing the pines, one year they were so bad swarming you were dive boomed sitting around a fire at night and if you cooked outside on a camp stove your pan was soon full of them. Bastards hurt flying full speed.
