In your 99s? Just curious.
rem cor-loc's 150 gr.
.300 Savage with 150gr. Nosler Ballistic tip and 40.5 grs. IMR 4895.
Handloads:

Hornady 180gr Interlocks over 37.5 gr of Imr4895 for the 99 "F" in a 300 Sav. and Rem 100gr Corelokts over 33.5 gr of Imr4895 in the Model 1920 bored for a 250-3000.

( During our muzzleloader seasons it's Hornady HP-XTPs pushed along by 100 gr over Triple Seven in my little Knight. )

Ya, I like Hornady bullets for deer, plain and simple. Nothing loaded hot all for accuracy! smile

Best of luck to all starting their hunts tomorrow!
150 gr Corelokt through a 99E .300

125 gr Rem Reduced recoil through a 99C .308 for my 12 yr old son

Rem CoreLokt 150 gr. factory .300 sav.

Mike....
300 Savage loaded up with 150gr Nosler Partitions and 38.5gr IMR4895. Quality rifles deserve quality bullets.. grin
Win. 100 grain silver tips in a 250 saddlegun!or 190 grain win. silvertips 303sav. John
In the 300, 180 gr Speer HotCors over Re15. In the 250, Rem factory 100 PSP.
In my .300 G, 23 grains of Rx7 with a 165 grain cast from a custom mold. .300 99 R 170 grain Sierra flat point, 39 grains of 4895, while my .308 DL gets 150 grain Speer pushed with 43 grains of 4895.
100gr Silvertip in the 250 99A has scored this year , so I retired it for the year.
Next up is the 99F in 300 with 180gr Remington Core-Lokt.
My 99A in 243 is my morning gun as it does not have a scope on it , it will be shooting Federal 80gr Power-Shok.
I really feel bad about using these factory loads but I have not done any handloading in over a year , since the wife & I had the new house built. No getting around it I am going to have to build a shop !

Mike
Barnes 130gr Tipped TSX in two 99F's chambered in 300 Savage.
200 gr Hornady spire points in my 358 and 150 gr Hornady spire points in my Dad's 300.

Dale
200 gr Power points in the 375 Win and 150 gr core lokts in the 35 Rem 170. I'd use the 200 gr LeverEvolutions but dang they kick like a mule and you don't really need 200 grs even for Canadian whitetails.
Not a 99 this year. M1920 250-3000, 87 grain Hornady spire point in front of 34.5 grains IMR 4320. 250 grain Hornady XTP in front of 47 grains IMR 4227 out of my Savage 10ML II. smile smile
How do the 250 XTP group and stand up on game for you, LBK?
Until I can find a better load, I have handloaded 20 roounds of .300 Savage consisting of 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip Bullets on top of 40.0 grains of IMR3031 I purchased in 2002 sparked by a standard Winchester large rifle primer in "accurized " Winchester cartridge cases.

Back in 2002 when I chronographed it, here's the results of a 5 shot group using Winchester primers:
2646, 2636, 2638, 2648 & 2653 (Avg. 2644 fps.)
Std. Deviation: 17 fps. (+9 fps., -8 fps.)

Accuracy of the 5 shot group = .466 inches @ 50 yards with 2 shots going into .216 inches.

Strength & Honor...

Green and red box Remington 100 gr round nose core-locs. 1 shot kill on a fabulous buck 3 weeks ago.
190gr. cast in the .30WCF. It's sighted in with 170 Silvertips right now, hope to find time to run up some cast bullet loads though. Got almost a month yet. 60gr. Buffalo's, or 70gr. Hornady's in the HiPower. 165gr. Sierra HPBT's in the .300 M20 if I go down the list that far!
Sorry Bert, I just read your post. The 250's group just fine. I thought I saved my last target, but I must have thrown it out. I fired 5 shots last Friday afternoon at 75 meters. First an third shots were cuting one another, 1 inch above a 1 inch bullseye. 2nd and 4th shots were cutting one another about 1 inch above the other two. Windage was dead on so I left everything alone figuting I was all set out to 150 ot 175 yards. Once again, thet was over 47 grains of IMR 4227 powder with a MMI sabot. CCI 209 primers. O grin smile
In the 99E /.308 Win, it will be 150 Speer flat base with Win 748 and Win primers in Remington Cases.
W-W Super 300 Savage with CCI LRM primer, 150 grain Hornady Interlock SST sitting on top of 44.1 grains of RamShot Big Game with a moderate crimp.
Remington CoreLoc 150's in my Dad's old 99R .300 Savage. Potent medicine for those big U.P bucks.
Rem Accutip 50 gr's 221 Fireball.
Scored last week with my brand new (to me anyway) 1961 vintage 300 Savage 99DL using 150 gr. Win. PP atop W760 in Win brass and Win large rifle primer (this gun shoots the Winchester factory stuff consistently into 5 shot 1 MOA groups, thus the reloading recipe is just an attempt to reproduce the factory load).

I hope to blood my 1916 vintage 1899A .303 using 170 gr. Rem RN atop Reloder 15 in Buffalo Arms reformed Remington .30-40 brass.
