Big bucks go nocturnal for the most part after a few days of Wisconsin gun deer season. Some move off the high ground and into the river bottoms and onto some of the islands. As we do every year we go after them.
Water levels are down so we couldn't use some of the boats so resorted to canoes. A plus was no thin ice to break, temperature at noon was 50*. Three bucks were shot and the newbie in camp scored a large one.
That’s a beauty of a buck. Congratulations to the hunter as well as his friends that helped in his kill. 👍
That’s what it’s all about….spending time with family and friends and sharing our passion for the outdoors with them. There’s something uniquely satisfying with using boats, canoes, pirogues, etc in hunting and harvesting big game. I love floating the rivers with a rifle and cruising the beaches for big bear.

Hell of a buck, especially for second to last day of gun season! What county?

I don’t show Sweetness many deer pictures, but I made an exception in that case. She asked if I had a case of “antler envy” going on there? YEP!!! What a beautiful buck Roundoak.

Given the thread title and the above quote I assumed this hunt happened (day before)yesterday at your camp.
We drove our back forty this weekend. Nothing that big but decent luck considering. Sorry for the black and white picture. Didn’t realize I had the filter on my iPhone.

No suppressors allowed!
Unfortunately not allowed in NY. We are all shooting creeds though, except for the broad. She shoots a 300wby.

Just a toad! Details of the shot?
Read the Field and Stream article that hillstadj posted. It appears Roundoak stole the pics and made up a BS story. Sad.

Subterfuge and misdirection gentleman.
You think he’s going to tell the world where and when that buck was really shot?

The canoe I used to ferry the manure to the Island was so overloaded we nearly capsized numerous times. Were it not for the mad paddling skillz, we might have been swimming - literally, up shít creek without a paddle!
