Does anyone have a spare front side screw for a Stith mount? Shot my 1947 EG rifle today and noticed it's gone Not sure model makes a difference, my mount fits a Weaver K4. Thanks, Keith
That's an odd little devil with a very thin head on it. Threads are kind of oversized 6-48. Stith used that screw several places but spares are like hen's teeth.
Just an FYI sharing, this slotted screw was as close as I could come. The thread size and threaded length work well. The screw cap is thicker than the recess in the mount and slightly larger OD. I carefully reduced the OD of the lower half of cap head with a dremmel so the cap would go into the recess. The screw cap sticks out about a 1/16" ... but at least the front of the scope is now secured.
