For my campfire friends. It being Christmas Eve I have been thinking about what I could wish for you all to have.
I could wish each of you to be rich beyond dreams of averice but when you think about it money can only buy things. Things can make you happy as can be for a while but after a time they turn about and just become things again.
I could wish peace for you but that depends so much on your own self and how you accept things. Everybody different and what would be peace to some would be war to another.
I could wish health and long life but not being either a doctor or God there is faint hope there. Besides that, any of us who have lived a while have seen too many cases where a person just lived too long. Nothing left but half a mind and that is about all. My own mother was a case in point.
I could wish you love but that means so many different things to different people. To the immature it mostly is confused with lust and too many folks think adulation is the same thing. One size don't hardly fit all.
So then after thinking about it here is my wish for you.
That you know what HOME is.
If you didn't or don't have a good one that you find or make one.
That if you had a good one the memories sustain you.
If you are still searching then work and pray God to establish one worthy of yourself and loved ones.
Above all I wish for you, my campfire friends, all the peace, love, joy and contentment that comes from saying:
I am home.
