You my friend are not a realist but a nay-sayer. For one thing you have no idea about me or my experiences. I have had several situations handled by local authorities. It's their job and most are more than willing to do it. Why are you being so negative about this guys chances? Why so adamant about the fact no one will help?

Another thing is that this man had $190 stolen from him. Fact. If a complaint is made against the thief it will be an officers duty to take care of it. Fact.

You sir are wrong. Time will tell who is and isn't right. Till then please listen to my silence. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

No, I'm describing the reality of the situation. You should put down your magic 8-ball and subscribe to it.

You can post all of this high-minded nonsense about it being an "officer's duty to take care of it," but you are being very naive if you believe it. The police are under absolutely no -- zero, none, nada, zilch -- obligation to pursue this matter. This is very, very, very low on the list of priorities for most police agencies.

You, on the other hand, seem to believe Barney Fife and Elliot Ness are standing by, ready to get a no-knock warrant and "do their duty." What a crock.

There is no "fact" that $190 was stolen. An allegation was made regarding theft by deception and/or mail fraud, but nothing has been proven.

Those are what are known as FACTS.

The USPS doesn't provide money order tracking until 60 days have passed. fog sent his money last month.

You don't have a clue what your talking about.

$3.15 fee and 30 days to start the process.

Thirty days, my mistake. What an unpardonable sin on my part!!!! Oh my!!!!

Then again, we've established fog used a cashier's check. Therefore the point is moot.

fella's, just take a minute and click on brickhead's profile and check out his 115 posts...most being argumentative, rude and inapropriate...and then click on "ignore this user" and you won't have to read this crap anymore...

Rick, thanks for the "ignore user" feature. Only had to use it 2 or 3 times in the couple of years I've been here, but it is nice to have when you need it!!!

What the heck is all the ruckus about? You guy's know that 99% of these threads are misunderstandings, the guy's out of town or what have you. Call the local police and have them check up on him, hell he may be in the hospital. [bleep] don't put him down till you have something to prove.

That's kind of what I've thought. However, I think most of fog's concern has been over this individual cashing the check, finding the time to log on to the internet, but not having the time to at least answer an email or return a telephone call.

All of this talk about mail fraud and sending people away to the pen is OUT THERE.
