Thinning the herd of backup rifles, so this is up for sale.

FN receiver, High Standard Barrel

Nice walnut

Way better than average condition.

13.75" LOP

All original except that the lug has been bedded.

Comes with Warne bases.

A few hunting scratches and dings.

**Receiver has been engraved very poorly with someone's ID #. Looks like they started and gave up. SEE PICTURES*

I've shot it with 150 grain Partitions and 180 grain Hornady. Both shot about 1.5" groups. I'm sure it'll do better with some load development.

Let the pictures speak for themselves. -------> https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/galleries/13756280#Post13756280

$375 with Warne bases, shipped to your FFL from a private individual
$435 shipped with Burris 4x scope, shipped to your FFL from a private individual

USPS Money Order. If we've done business before, then any form of payment will do.

Somebody need this, just not me right now. Agree it's a deal, sight unseen (so far).

A few years ago I removed the butt plate to extend the LOP to my preferred 14".

There on the walnut under the plastic plate was a man's signature and date from what I assume was the date of assembly.

I believe the date was 1954.

How many production rifles today are of the quality that they are signed by the builder?

These are quality rifles, built with pride.

After seeing the signature and date, I promptly put the plastic plate back on.

Firm on price. Open to trade ideas.

If it doesn't sell, it won't hurt my feelings.

My first centerfire rifle was a JC Higgins Mod. 50 30/06. Paid $50 for it used in mint condition with a Weaver 4X. Killed my first whitetail buck with it back in '66.
Had it rebarreled with a Douglas in 25/06. Timney trigger and Royal stock in highly figured claro.
Killed many a whitetail with it. Wish I had kept it.

Last bump to the top. If it doesn't sell by Wednesday evening, it will go back in the safe.

I’ll take it

1. The altitude above you
2. The runway behind you
3. The fuel on the ground
