Would getting killed on vacation be better or worse than dying at work?
Neither.
The biggest problem our country has is not systemic racism, it's systemic stupidity.

If you send me a self addressed stamped envelope I’ll send you a hanky. You can always spot an idiot when they dig their heels in on a stupid position, even after getting called out on it. A private business has every right to set requirements for people who chose to enter the business, just as you have the same right in your home. The guy was doing his job enforcing a company policy. If you don't like the reason the policy was implemented that's a completely separate issue, with completely different people.

Guy goes to work and two azzholes kill him. Quick trial and hang the fuggers. I dont care how many kids the poor guy had or what his politics may have been.
Guy goes to work in good shape, ought to go home to his family same way

Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

The guy was doing his job enforcing a company policy. Thank you for reiterating my point. That you did so unwittingly was a nice touch.

You do realize we were talking about a guy who was shot dead while doing his job right? What? The guy had a job? What was it? A security guard at the Dollar store. Are you really this obtuse in real life or do you just LARP that way on the forum?

Imagine the life choices that lead to a person to accepting employment as a security guard at a Family Dollar in Flint, MI. Second post in the thread...... But hey, thanks for answering my question.

Imagine the life choices that lead to a person to accepting employment as a security guard at a Family Dollar in Flint, MI. I know a guy who is a very successful lawyer, plus family money. His daughter is a university-educated semi-successful actress (and pretty AF). His son, despite whatever strings dad could pull, whoever’s palm he greased to get him into university, simply could not cut it. He’s not mentally handicapped according to the medical sense, he simply does not have the mental acuity. This is not his choice. He works as a security guard. When the old man dies he’ll probably be the richest security guard around, but “observe and report” is all he’s going to be able to do with his life if he wants to provide a service to society. His skill set might include reminding people to put a mask on when they come into a dollar store.

many of them likely were not choices he made but rather circumstances he was in. I was raised to never look down on any one on the basis of their occupation. The victimhood crowd is inescapable it seems. You write as if people are passively involved in the whole thing, getting swept along by their circumstances rather than capable of exercising their own agency. This is victim thinking and decking in to engage in it is not “looking down” on anyone. You do realize we were talking about a guy who was shot dead while doing his job right? Looks to me like the very definition of a victim. Maybe he “chose” to be a security guard or maybe that was the only job he could come up with in Flint fuggin MI. Either way, blaming the guy’s life choices instead of putting it squarely on the thugs who shot him seems like a liberal assed dick move to me. Well said - many kudos!!!

So you make a stupid comment about a guy who was murdered, get called out on it by several people, and then pretend you don’t remember what you were arguing earlier. Imagine the life choices that lead to a grown man acting that way.

He works as a security guard. Where? Dunno. Why does it matter unless it’s at a nuclear facility?

You're still dumb enough to think you dont come across as a moron? Your point wasn't even slightly made. Every company has the right to make the policies they see fit. Dont like it, dont shop there.

I dunno what factors lead to the deceased's employment.
But doing a good job for your days wages.....is honorable.
Job type doesnt matter.
