Ed Sundholm was from my hometown. He started a factory making a grease gun of his design and did quite well. In 1951, he took his wife and two adult-age daughters on a 4-month trip around the world. One month of this trip was spent on an African safari. In 1951 and 1952, Ed provided a series of articles in our home-town paper providing the details of this trip. I recently found digital copies from that time on-line. I was fascinated by how closely his experiences parallel those of Ruark in Horn of the Hunter. I am going to attempt to paraphrase and quote from some of those articles in posts in the days to come.
