Love the 8's lengths & a bit lighter weight. Of course the prices are harder to swallow.

But, has anyone here compared the 2 ?

The 8s are very short and can be problematic to mount on some systems. I recently had to machine a rail down to mount one on a Seekins. Buyer beware

True. The 2.5-10x42 NXS is also a short scope. I couldn't mount it on a Defiance Long Action rail without the front bell touching (low rings). It also isn't long enough in the tube length to work with the Hawkins Precision Rings. I'm sure the NX8's really exacerbate the problem and could be much tougher than the larger NXS's to mount, especially on a long action.

Thanks for the heads up on the mounting length.

I had noticed some of the lower powered ones, & some Actars are really squeezed up. Got my eye on a 4-32 which is a bit better with a 5.7 inch mounting length. But that's still tight. For instance, a 5.5-20 NXS has 6.6".

Seems the cost isn't the only consideration with one of these.

Looks as if they were designed with ARs or short action tactical bolts in mind, both of which commonly use full length pic rails and as also higher rings than a traditional sporter comb stock, so the short mounting surface and height are not an issue.

Great glass and tracking though.
