This is on Nosler's FAQ. Just in case you were wondering. I read this question often. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BALLISTIC TIP® AND THE ACCUBOND®?
Externally, they look the same except for the tip colors, Ballistic Tip® bullets are color-coded by caliber while all AccuBond® bullets have white tips. Internally the Ballistic Tip® is not bonded and is designed for controlled expansion on medium game with approximately 50-60% weight retention. Conversely, the lead alloy core of the AccuBond® is bonded to the jacket. This bonding increases weight retention (65-70%) and slows expansion resulting in deeper penetration and enhanced bone-breaking potential in larger animals.

but simply going to mono you retain up to 100% weight. Can shoot a lighter faster bullet. Kills stuff dead. I only tried E tips once, they were not accurate, but I hear they fixed that.
Why argue with the unbelievable consistent dead results TTSX provide.

but simply going to mono you retain up to 100% weight. Can shoot a lighter faster bullet. Kills stuff dead. I only tried E tips once, they were not accurate, but I hear they fixed that.

When I met my brown bear guide, Brad Dennison, in Sitka one of the first questions he asked was what I was shooting. A stainless 375 H&H M70 with 270 gr TSX's brought a smile. The "check zero" shot brought a larger smile...

Its all about the velocity with the BT. Under 3k, muy bueno, at least for me and everybody I know. Some jackleg wants to run the 150 in his 300 Win Mag as fast as they will go, he is going to have a mess. You want to run 3k and above, go to the monolithics and don’t look back.
I want to try some 110 TTSX in my 308, figure it would be a pretty flat shooter to 300m, which as far as I am going to see a deer here. I am not the brightest ever, but I know better than to push a 125 BT like that for anything but coyotes. On those, a fast BT is spectacular. Its a simple matter of picking the right boolit for the job at hand and knowing its limits.

So many good bullets. Seems they all kill fine. I've got a truckload of AB and eldx but have been shooting factory terminal ascent and hope I don't run out anytime soon.

My life is on the line and my clients. I run TTSX The TTSX has shot very well in every rifle I have tried them in. If I had to get down to one brand of bullet, TTSX would be the one.

I’ve killed 10 or so deer with 308 150 gr ballistic tips most are 150-300 yds away fist size exits is what I’ve seen on high shoulder shots.

I used accubonds on dall sheep and mountain caribou, in a 270WSM, and they worked great.
I’ve used ballistic tips on deer and pronghorn in 240 wby, 257 wby, and Rem 7 mag. They worked just fine, but damaged some meat.

I never figured a one shot kill on deer was a failure. I have killed a bunch with the 30 cal 165 gr BT, while my buddies did the same with the 130 BT from their 270s.

A deer is not a really big creature nor endowed with a steel superstructure. A Ballistic Tip in any reasonable weight or diameter is much more capable of killing than not killing by about 999 to 0.0001? LAFFIN !!! Matter of fact there aren’t any expanding bullets for centerfire ammo that won’t do the job on deer. And if you don’t recognize the value of shot placement double the ignorant / stupid condition above. Geez steve, even Only Trumpets know better than this. Double laffin. I've killed deer with .22-250 55gr, .243 95gr. and .25-06 115gr. Ballistic Tips. They do what they're designed to do.

Not interested in monos for white tail sized game. Lead works and has so since the gun was invented. Monos have a place, mainly for heavy game...

I prefer frangible for varmints and controlled expansion with weight retention for larger game. I appreciate that not all bullets are created equal and that I can choose from a spectrum. Choosing one bullet for all applications is akin to the recurring question about choosing only one rifle for all purposes. What's the fun in that?
