I thought some of you boys might be interested in some E-Tip loading data.
.300WSM 150 grain E-Tip and 150 TTSX(for comparison) 200 yards 3 shot groups All loads are Nosler #6 max for 150 gr. AB/PT's. I seated all bullets to 2.860"COL(tweakage to follow).
RL19 69.5 grains 2960fps 2.25"
N550 65.5 grains 3220fps 2"
IMR 4831 69 grains 3140 1.75"
150 TTSX info.
N550 65.5 grains 3180fps 2.25"
RL19 70 grains 2920fps 2.5"
H4350 67.5 grains 3160fps 3"
IMR4831 69 grains 3070fps 2.5"
It appears as if you can substitute book data for the long E-Tip.

Good stuff. Looks like pressures are a bit higher with the Nosler.
Now with even more aplomb

Nosler's seem to be more accurate!

Looks like about any of those loads would do well. Gotta hate that (grin).

The E-Tips have shot the best right out of the gate over the six other bullets I have tried. I just loaded up another batch with varying COL's and charges. Hopefully the groups will shrink up a little...

180's should work fine in your .300 Win. Mag.. They might be too long in the WSM with slow powder though. For comparison. ----180 Accubond---180 Partition---168 TSX---165 Partition---150 TTSX---150 E-Tip ------1.390"----------1.255"---------1.320"------1.175"--------1.295"------1.290" Nosler lists the 180 E-Tip at 1.464".

You're welcome bud. I really enjoy shooting the 150's over the 180's too. Noticeably less felt recoil IMO.

FWIW, I don't have a 300 WSM or probably never will. However, I can appreciate what it takes to go through the R&D to include groups and chronograph results and post them for every regular joe. That's just being a cool cat in my book. Good luck Sam.

Sam,I'll throw a little fuel on the fire, have you looked into Reloader 17 a new powder that Alliant claims 3343 fps with 150 gr bullets in the 300 WSM, it's a new high energy powder designed around the WSM cases,I wouldn't want you to run out of components to test!

Still unavailable Ackleyfan. I`ve got an interest there as well. Alliant is waiting on labels and canisters before it ships. Probably by months end.

SamOlson, Good pic. Any chance we could get you to re-post it with the lengths of those bullets? I still can't see why bullet makers don't list the bullet length along with their other specs. It would sure help when figuring seating depth and bullet intrusion into the case.

No problem, I edited in the bullet lengths in the pic. I agree, knowing the lengths beforehand would be nice.

I called them about the delivery date Wednesday last week, and they are waiting on details like labels and canisters, said the first run will be 2 or 3 thousand pounds, then a delay for production to catch up. I`d get a couple few pounds up front and let others wait..........
I`m going to use it in 300 Saum, and a 6/47 Lapua.
