Same here figured a spare would come in handy down the road when it's time to rebarrel....but not much more will get ya into a good custom barrel.good luck
I was thinking the same thing when I first saw the title of his original sale ad ... but when I saw the price, I was immediately turned off.
However, I did take it upon myself to send the guy a PM right then, and let him know precisely what you just said - that a custom tube doesn't cost much more than that, which would likely make it hard to move the bbls at the price he was asking. I also made it very clear that I was not haggling, or trying to get him to lower his price ... I just thought I'd let the guy know, what I know, from my experience here ...
I never did get a reply to my PM, so I can't know at all how it was perceived by the guy ... not sure I care either.
Regardless, I will say that both of these threads about the bbls have taken pitiful turns ... both on the part of some "buyers", and the seller.
I share the sentiment with some others, that if you don't like the price, move on w/out saying a word. Or, if you want, privately let the seller know that his price might need to be looked into, because it's higher (or lower, which is sometimes the case) than it should be - if for no other reason that so simply be a nice guy and help a fellow campfire member out.
as always, my posts are worth what you paid for them, so treat them as such ... (grin)
