Had enough of the M70 crap, so I called Winchester this morning. Got some direct answers, I did.

The new M70s produced in South Carolina WILL be rollstamped "Made in Columbia, SC", right next to the caliber designation.

HOWEVER, straight from Winchester CS (verified through production), THEY HAVE NOT RELEASE ANY M70s so stamped YET!

And, EVEN BETTER, they haven't even done up the BARRELS for the M70 Safaris in .375H&H yet.

Thus, there will be Safari Express M70s rollstamped "Made in Columbia, SC", right next to the caliber designation, BUT THEY HAVEN'T BEEN MADE YET, NOR HAVE EVEN THE BARRELS BEEN DONE UP YET!

Simply put, Lee, you might have one on order, but they don't exist yet.

The fellas at Winchester CS were gracious enough, though, to verify what caliber any M70 so stamped out there currently, actually left the plant as, and when. All they need is a serial number. I have a direct extension that I'll gladly pass along to a neutral third party, if you (Lee24) will provide the same third party with a serial number.

Or, within the next, say, 30 days, you can just post up a pic of that M70 Safari Express in .375 H&H, roll stamped "Made in Columbia, SC". You know, the one that doesn't exist, yet..... and 30 days should be plenty of time for you to get the pic up, and well prior to Winchester actually starting to make the configuration you say you already have.

So, that leaves four choices:
1) continued obfuscation, which would be a clear indication that you lied about having what don't exist yet;
2) admitting that you don't have what don't exist yet;
3) posting a pic of that rifle within 30 days, and proving me, Matt Williams, a host of other folks, AND WINCHESTER, wrong; or,
4) providing a serial number off your rifle to a neutral third party here at the 'fire, to verify that either you have something that shouldn't exist yet (and we're all wrong), or that you had an M70 altered to prove a point.

That, in a nutshell, is that. 4 choices: pick one.

I'm confused, I thought Lee designed the trinyte process for the Remington XCR? Why would someone so integral to Remington buy a Winchester double secret prototype?

Perhaps there is more to this than meets the eye, perhaps Lee is a secret double agent for Remington?

Matt Williams has already offered up a REAL M70 if Lee can prove us wrong.

I'm just waiting on a gold coin bet, to seal the deal.

Lee24's Safari Express (roll-stamped by Lee himself):
[Linked Image]
Lee24 has never had, and never will have, a Model 70 375 Holland and Holland Safari Express stamped South Carolina. He will continue to avoid us and make hyperbole about why he can't come up with the picture. You have offered him sundry options in regards to the matter, but you know as well as I do that he will never come up with the pictures. When I question him on a thread, he abandons the aforementioned thread and moves on, spreading his "pearls of wisdom" elsewhere. Continued obfuscation is all that Lee knows.

VA: They are going to make the Safari Express again? I thought for sure that that model would be a permanent goner. I guess they will list it in 2009. Any changes to it you know about, i.e. wood grade, caliber offerings, etc.?

FWIW, I was told that "they hadn't done up any of the barrels in .375 caliber yet for the Safari Express". Operative term is "yet", and that was pretty much confirmed.

I think Winchester WILL make one of the rifles that Lee claims to already have, and he likely has an order in already on one. That such a rifle is AT LEAST 6 months out right now on manufacture and delivery, is a given, and that's what's got his nuts in the sling. It will exist, and he'll likely get one once they do...... but it don't exist yet, and he's caught in the lie.

Since you're building a nice rapport with the folks at Winchester, could you get one of them to come on this board and give Lee24 public permission to post his pictures, which he says he has of a rifle only he claims exists? I would think Winchester would be fairly interested in seeing them as well.

Or, since they should recognize him instantly by the info posted here, one of them could just call him up and tell him it's OK. Shouldn't be a problem, beings as how he's so well know and well liked there... whistle.
