Is this just a plain ol' factory tupperware stock, or is it a Bell & Carlson like on some other models?

Tupperware! Pretty much the same as the SPS stocks - just have the Hogue rubberized grip panels molded in on the grip and forearm.

This particular rifle is a Model Seven, but I'm sure it's the same stock as on the 700. Thanks KDF.

That is right on...it is a tupperware stock. I have one and I thought it would be better than it is.

By the way, if anyone is interested, I bought mine from Hill Country Rifles. They buy the XCRs and sell the stocks. I purchased it for $35.00 from them. It is at least worth $35.00 but not much more.

Tupperware. And Fugly too, with those grey swoopy patches.

HOWEVER, I've had mine for... 4 years or so. In that time I have found it to be an extremely reliable, stable stock. My POI has never changed, and I've shot it a lot. It shrugs off being benched different, or a tripod... the POI stays functionally the same.

Also, those fugly patches of grey are sticky, and the two times I had my rifle out in truly "extreme" conditions (icy frozen gloves) my hands were a LOT less tired at the end of the day, because you don't have the "grab" the stock; it kind of wants to stick to your gloves, sorta.

I dunno, I think it's ugly and cheap-looking, but I have had zero reason to change it out. So, at least in my case, it works very, very well.

Maybe not the best stock, but like Jeff O said the sticky grip panels work good and I have also noticed that while in the tree stand the rifle does not slide all over the place when I have it resting on my legs. I have no reason to get rid of the stock.

Still tupperware, but much better IMHO than Remington's previous synthetic stocks. I have both and find the XCR, while definitely not a Micky, stiffer and more quality feeling than the abortions Remington used to use.

Just my .02

Has anyone ever heard tell of a bad-shooting XCR? They gotta be out there, but you don't hear about them very often.

Not to get too goopy over that stock, because I really do think it's butt-ass-UGLY... my XCR is the least finicky rifle I've owned so far, and the most stable over time and across conditions. And I didn't change a thing, left the pressure point in, etc.

I hafta think that stability has something to do with the stock...

Back to the hands thing. It is funny and you guys are cracking me up, keep it up, but what I was describing is real. I didn't realize how tired my hands get from gripping a rifle all day (I don't sling 'em) until I carried that thing the first time and they WEREN'T tired. Those pads are so sticky, you can almost completly relax your hands.

Anyway......................
