Hello fellows. This is my first post in the Single Shot forum. I took the plunge and bought a E.A Brown single shot in their own 6.5mm based off a 30-30 case. I took it to the range and didn't do too badly. I was able to shoot 3 within 1 inch @ 100 yards. I blame myself for the poor shooting, This was the first time I have shot a rifle in 11 years so my skills aren't as good as they could be. First impressions of the rifle is that it will be a good shooter. The action is crisp, and the the recoil is light. I look forward to shooting it some more.

Congratulations on getting back into what can be a serious obsession. And good choice going with a single shot as well.
Did you happen to buy the Brown 97? I've read some good things about EABCO and of course some not so good. Glad to hear that you're having a good first experience.
They also produce T/C barrels which I've considered, but haven't taken the plunge.
By the way, photos are always a plus smile

KC, yes it is the M97D rifle. I have heard some people who had issues with Eben. When I called i found him to be abrupt on the phone BUT he was helpful.

Here is a photo of it, I will have to take a better one.

Yep, I like it.
From other photos I've seen, they are pretty compact rifles. Great 300yd+ cartridge too.
Thank you for sharing!

Nice. I have really been looking hard at one of these in 6.5 BRM. Looking at your photo, the receiver definitely has a blocky, unrefined look about it. How does it handle? Does it feel "square" in your hand--seems like the corners might feel odd in the hand.

Looks good though. I really like the nickel clored receiver with the blued barrel.

Keep us posted on any of your developments with this rifle.

War Eagle, I have fairly large hands and it does not feel blocky at all when I have my thumb wrapped around the stock. The pictures don't do the wood justice really. While the reciever does have a certain unrefined look it works as advertised. The mechanisms are still really stiff. I have been working it to wear it in. I haven't handled a Ruger #1 (yet) to see how a new one compares to stiffness out of the box.
I am hoping thursday is a decent day, if it is I will be going back out to the range.

BTW, I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa Alabama.
